I am reading through the NicFit thread and love the Rhino lists from a few months ago, and am not feeling the BUG lists from right now.. that aside, what happened/where are the rector lists?
That card seems absurdly powerful, especially with the enchantments that they keep printing...
I am still reading the thread and if i find an answer I will edit.
"eggs... why'd it have to be eggs"
I posted 2 builds with Rector not to long ago:
A Junk list with Doubling Season and Humility and a bunch of token generators.
A 4c list with Omniscience and Emrakul.
The "thing" with Rector is that it is easily hated with Deathrite Shaman, Swords to Plowshares and other gravehate. Plus its cmc 4 makes it a bit slow. It leans towards being (to) cute. That said, cards like Humility and Nether Void are extremely powerful and the decks are really fun to play.
Matt- what is your current rhino list?

Sylvan Library or Top in a non-blue list? I have 1 library now so trying to decide what else to get.
Sensei's Divining Top is harder to remove and dodges Pernicious Deed. Also while Sylvan Library can provide you with card advantage in my experience i often do not need "extra" cards. Solving problems one turn at a time is often enough. In rare situations i use the draw ability of SDT if i need two cards of the top in the same turn ie a fifth land and a Stormbreath Dragon or something else. In the end, you can always play a combination of both and find out which you like best. I must also add that an active Sensei's Divining Top is often involved in winning games. Same counts for Sylvan Library to. NicFit really starts getting an advantage once you are able to start selecting answers or pressure.
Double checking in case I'm unaware of a card: there's essentially no playable GSZ-able sweeper, right? For clarity, I have no idea if stuff like Polukranos, World Eater is playable in a broad sense, but I'm talking about something that does a better Deluge/Deed impression than that.
I fear not. The closest thing is Dragonlord Atarka, but bound to red splash and cmc 7, which basicly makes it to slow and near unplayable.
What more good five drop in green are good that's not a Swagtusk?
Mono green? Not to many, but i like:
Wolfir Silverheart
Titania, Protector of Argoth
Nath of the Gild-Leaf
Obviously if your going for splash colors your optios widens. But basicly the displayed cards are far less interesting as Thragtusk. Stuff like Sigarda are top notch and not easily matched. Note that i name Nath in the same breath as mono-green since the deck cannot run without black.
as for Magic Origins:
The thing could easily be 5+power. To be or not to be.
True that, the beater misses Trample or Haste (less), or both![]()
There are no other solid choices for 5 drops. We have that 5 mana 5/3 flyer with build in earthquake/hurricane. And then there is Stormbreath Dragon and Demigod of Revenge. Outside of this i havent had succes of finding something. And man, i have been lurking threads and magic card databases for ages.
Punishing Nic Fit picked up a top 8 today!

Does the new Nissa have any place in this deck? She's tutor-able via Zenith, and probably easy to flip. +1 is card advantage and -7 could be finisher.
I think it is to slow to make the ultimate count (you would first need to develop a manabase for her to flip and then to up her loyalty by 4 turns before she ultimates) and her other abilities do not make anough impact to the board. Hence, we have better creatures doing the things she tries to do: Thrun, the Last Troll and Courser of Kruphix.
Although i am not discarding her right away...
essentially, look at Nissa as a 3cmc creature. She's basically a Wood Elves. I would arguably replace Wood Elves for Nissa in the lists still using them (scape?).
Whoops, you're right. In that case, Nissa is pretty bad until she transforms, and even then she doesn't do as much work as Courser IMO
I actually agree that Nissa might not be so bad.
There are plenty of good reasons not to tap out for GSZ and get a 5-drop or something (Daze and Spell Pierce, floating Terminus, holding up mana for some other action like DRS or Top). Getting to six lands is elementary for this deck, and if you grab her off a GSZ, you get your forest, flip her instantly, then draw another card or put a 4/4 down to protect her.
The trouble is that she really isn't good early, and it's not like there isn't a shortage of 3 drops that are good both early and late in Gx (Knight, Courser, Ewitness, etc). She is definitley more of a late bomb than those cards though.
