Discussion: Most/least skill-intense cards of the format

Since in the B&R thread is often discussing skill, it would be interesting to know what the Sourcers think about skill-demanding cards in the format.

Note: What you're writing here is your personal opinion, so let's not devolve this thread into another B&R discussion.

    Here's my personal list:

Most skill-intensive card of the format: Cabal Therapy (blind)
    Most overrated card: Brainstorm
Most brainless card: Show and Tell (honorable mentions: Omniscience, Burn)
    Most underrated card: Flickerwisp

I can agree with all of your selections. A couple of other very skill-intensive cards IMO:

    Wirewood Symbiote
    Quirion Ranger

The use of those two cards I think is what separates average Elves players from great ones in many cases. On another note, I'm going to say that Force of Will is a deceptively skill-intensive card - when and what to Force, and also what to pitch to it can be very difficult decisions.

    Most overrated card: True-name nemesis
    Most brainless card: Trinisphere
Most underrated card: Dack Fayden (of powerful cards), maybe goblin lackey.

Got no issues with your list. Brainstorm's difficulty is overrated, but that doesn't meant it can't be hard to play. Like you mentioned in the B/R thread, there are often obvious choices. The difficulty really shines where a gamestate change makes it so nearly every card in your hand is relevant, but you need to put 2 that you can't use just yet back. You have to be able to figure out what you don't want happening, what could possibly happen, and how you want to respond to those happenings after Brainstorm has finished resolving, and that is no easy task.

For underrated, I want to say Pyroclasm. A lot of times people play Illness in the Ranks and stuff that has a conditional effect. Pyroclasm deals with just about every nuisance creature in the format for the cheap cost of .

Most skill-intensive card of the format: Sensei's Divining Top
    Most overrated card: Gitaxian Probe
Most brainless card: Delver of Secrets (edit: Dig Through Time)

Agreed on Doomsday and Cabal Therapy.
Flickerwhisp is indeed underated. It is such a house in DnT. Also Dack Fayden, solid.

Keep the cards coming, especially the underrated category is interesting.

I can't remember anybody ever claiming TNN taking skill. Didn't you mean to put it into the "brainless" category?

    Most overrated card: Brainstorm
    Most brainless card: True-name Nemesis
Most underrated card: Slaughter Games (many won't consider it for the high mana value, but it's one of the few surefire hard counter against combo in the game)

Unfortunately, the most brainless card makes the most skill intensive card a lot less skillful and interesting.
