Stifle is a "trick" in this deck.
Like ever, Stifle is a good option imho, but is depending by your conception of Patriot.
Imho, the Owen list is the top for this deck, I add only 2x Dig Through Time because this is a great card and change the sideboard.
I have tested the deck with 3x Stifle and this is a great option but Canadian can optimize the Stifle better.
We have a good, solid, midgame who don't need stifle in the early game imho.
The deck is mana hungry. On turn 2 you want to cast Mystic and on turn 3 you want to deploy batterskull or a sword. Maybe you are lucky to have 3 lands on turn 3, so you could have one mana left for stifle.
I quote Echofish.
The deck is mana hungry but in some matchup we don't need the full 20 set of lands.
Versus some types of control or combo decks I remove 1 or 2 lands for a Canadian Threshold style.
About the turn 2, i like to improve my strategy with Stoneforge but many tyme, i like to defend my "tutor" and Spell Pierce or Brainstorm are good options.
Anyway i don't reject Stifle with no mercy!
Stifle imho is a good, interesting, option, maybe meta dependent....but I don't have space in my deck for Stifle in this meta.
Sure, this is my list.
I test this maindeck with many focus from 4/5 week.
I have add 1 basic Island because the meta turn into Loam, MUD, Lands.deck and i can save my early turn in this way.
The solid Manabase is the way to play our game.
4 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
1 Island
4 Wasteland
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte
2 True-Name Nemesis
4 Stoneforge Mystic
4 Delver of Secrets
4 Force of Will
4 Daze
2 Spell Pierce
2 Dig Through Time
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Swords to Plowshares
1 Spell Snare / Spell Pierce / Nemesis / Vendilion
Imho I have only one slot in trouble.
I don't know how, of the 4 choises, is better for my deck in this time.
I don't like to play with Blast effect in maindeck.
With DTT gone. The meta is anyone's ball game. May sleeve myself up some of this later in the week.
DTT is finally banned!
Welcome back UWR Delver!! (or not?)
I think Owen's list is pretty good again, I'm just gonna cut the 4th StP for a 3rd TNN in MD.
I still think DRS is very OP to not be used with delver, and maybe Grixis/BUG's lists are better though.

Patriot. Is like a child love for me. Was my first legacy deck.
I abandoned him after treasure's cruise ban. In that period of time it was unstoppable but the ban happened that fast that people coudnt realize it.
Before treasure cruise era it was nevertheless an awesome deck, just not quite as broken. Good against everything except Bug delver and Miracles that they were 40/60 matchups.
If those decks are not very popular in your area I would give this deck a chance again to orove its worth
So there was a 66 person tournament for a Mox Emerald at Squabbles Trading Cards in Glen Burnie Maryland.
Ended up piloting this deck to a top 8 finish
There were 7 rounds, and I ended up with a record of 5-1-1 with the 7th round being an intentional draw into top 8.

1 Pyroblast
2 Rest in Peace
1 Flusterstorm
1 Wear//Tear
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
A pretty stock list. I figured I'd start where the deck was before Khans of Tarkir came out. The deck felt very strong all day, and seemed to have game against whatever my opponent was playing. The list was great, and I'd probably only make slight changes to the board.
Out:
-1 Vendilion Clique
-1 Pyroblast
In:
+1 Flusterstorm
+1 Swords to Plowshares
I'm not 100% positive on these changes, but It's where I'm at for now
Match-ups:
Round 1: Grixis Delver - Win 2-0
Round 2: Esper Stoneblade - Loss 1-2
Round 3: Sneak/Show - Win 2-1
Round 4: Elves - Win 2-1
Round 5: Imperial Painter - Win 2-0
Round 6: Lands - Win 2-0
Round 7: Intentional Draw
Record: 5-1-1
Top 8: 4 Color Delver - Loss 1-2
This match was very close. I ended up losing in game 3 to my opponents mull to 5. I put Batterskull into play I believe 6 or 7 times, with 3 of the living weapon triggers being Stifled. It was a weird game, but I ended up losing to his Deathrite Shaman and 4/5 Tarmogoyf not being able to find a Swords to Plowshares or Lightning Bolt.
Well, let me know what you guys think. I'm so happy to be playing this deck again
Hey, so happy people are coming back to this list. I actually never left it. Had a few ideas/questions. First, my list
Creatures
Creatures: 12
3 True-Name Nemesis
3 Stoneforge Mystic
4 Delver of Secrets
1 Vendillion Clique
1 Meddling Mage
Spells: 29
1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Daze
2 Spell Pierce
2 Stifle
Lands: 19
4 Wasteland
4 Polluted Delta
4 Flooded Strand
4 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
Sideboard:
1 Pyroclasm
2 Meddling Mage
1 Pithing Needle
1 Blue Elemental Blast
2 Pyroblast
3 Rest in Peace
1 Flusterstorm
2 Wear//Tear
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
1 Ethersworn Canonist
Now let me start by saying, I am going -1 StoneForge to +1 Meddling Mage mainboard as I always seem to have multiple copies of SFM in my hand. So by cutting one, I draw the 1 or 2 I need and I am happy. The Meddling Mage is also to help out my local Meta, as I can prevent the Emerkul in 12 Post (or Prime Time), (Nimble Mongoose or Abrupt Decay, depending on if I have TNN or Batterskull out) and really have a chance at my Game 1 if I am lucky to have it. The times I do draw it, it almost always gets countered or removed which frees up my next play.
My two TC turned into two DTT and now are Stifles, hopefully those don't get banned, lol. Local meta plays a lot of fair decks and a lot of fetches eat the stifle or other things. If anything, I would love to go up to 3, but its a dead card many times too, so 2 seems right. I didn't want to mess with my spells any further, but I was also having issues with gas. So putting in Vclique seems normal and I'm liking it so far, but its a flex slot. The -1 Daze is there just because Daze is a dead card mid to late game so many times. Its good for tossing to FOW, but sometimes its the next card i am drawing its its the one I want to see the least.
Since I've made these changes, I am 7-1 (after DTT ban) with my only loss being to Imperial D&T due to losing confidence after being spanked 13 out of 18 games against a friend. (But won 10 out of 12 last night after adding Pyroclasm to board and Vclique to Main)
Sideboard:
Even at GP NJ and every tourney I play, I always play Dredge and RUG Delver somehow. 2 Weeks ago I played both and my 3 RIP got me there, last week I played RUG and same. One day, I won't get paired against those decks and regret the 3rd RIP but until then, I feel the 3rd favors me HEAVILY. If I don't have it in my opening and I don't see Cantrips, I've mulled and gotten it almost every time. (or Cantriped and found it) I think that's only possible because of 3 copies.
Would love to discuss more, and keep this going, let me know what you think, as I'm not married to these choices, its what my anecdotal evidence is telling me.
2 Tournament Record... (2nd was for a Guaranteed Blue Dual)
Round 1: Dredge 2-0 Win (I know, lol)
Round 2: High Tide 2-1 Win
Round 3: RUG Delver 2-1 Win
Round 4: S&S 2-0 Win
Round 1: 12 Post 2-0 Win
Round 2: Imp D&T 0-2 Loss
Round 3: RUG Delver 2-1 Win
Round 4: Paired up to only 3-0, IL to split Dual Credit
Limited results, but I'm going to Seattle and will be in at least 3 More local tournies and hopefully at least two GPT from now until then.
In your list 2 stifle do nothing. In this deck you may play 2 spell snare (it's counter counterbalance and tarmogoyf) and 2 pierce. GProbe gives you anvantage and you needn't open mana. I like stifle to, but in RUG it's better. MM in main it's a good idea, what is your local meta? It's seems have miracles, combo? And why you don't play containment priest in SB?
Brought Some Patriot to the local legacy lair last night. went 2-1 over 3 rounds. Deck is still pretty damn good.
Round 1. Burn
Game 1: I turn 1 delver, turn 2 SFM. He burns my mystic. I play a second. He proceedes to get stuck on with no spells. Delver and batterskull do their thing.
Game 2: Delver meddling mage do their thing. He burns out a mage. I cast a second one naming fireblast. Counter his abbot and Delver and Mage finish the job.
1-0
Round 2. OmniTell
Game 1. Turn 1 delver. He probes to see what I got. Plays an Island and passes. I flip the delver on a daze. Proceed to beat face. He plays a second island and ponders and brainstorms. I let the them resolve rather than waste the FOW or daze on a cantrip. He drops and ancient tomb. I drop a SFM get a batterskull and then I waste the tomb He eventually gets a show and tell out which I force. He forces back. I pierce the force. Game 2.
Game 2. Turn 1 delver. He forces. Wat? Turn 2 delver. Nothing. He plays island. Tomb. I waste the tomb. He Plays volcanic into burning wish. Pierce the wish. I am holding a lightning bolt this whole game. I get him to 5 and the lands he has are Island, Volcanic, ancient tomb. I swing putting him down to 2. Play another wasteland, waste the volcanic. Pass the turn. Puts him on tilt because he cannot tap tomb to stay alive. My hand is also, REB, Pierce, Daze, FOW. so... there's that.
2-0
Round 3. MUD
Game 1. He goes turn 1 chalice for 1. I FOW. He goes turn 2 chalice for 1. I scoop.
Game 2. I containment priest when he cracks his attrition pieces for blightsteel. GOTCHA!
Game 3. I mull to 4. Keep Tundra, Ponder, Wasteland. Turn 1 he plays cavern naming construct. I waste it. Turn 2 he plays a city of traitors. Passes the turn. I ponder seeing delver, TNN bolt. This isn't good. I get a TNN out but by this point he has 2 wurmcoils. I concede and walk away with 15 bucks.
Deck felt good. MUD was a loss to variance so I can't be all that upset. The MU seems winnable.
MUD is a tier deck imho.
We can win this matchup only if our speed is great.
Delver on turn 1 with daze and olther protection can help us.
Nemesis is great vs wurmcoil.
Anyway have you tried Stifle?
I play 3x in this time but i don't understand are good in this meta or not.
Vs Ugin is good (if chalice don't resolve)!
So, people who are now back in the Patriot Delver wagon, how are your lists been playing out? I've basically taken my list from a while back and updated the sideboard. Seems like Spell Pierce is great again, and no deck use that card better than this one.
My list:
Lands [19]
4 Wasteland
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
Creatures [11]
4 Delver of Secrets
4 Stoneforge Mystic
3 True-Name Nemesis
Spells [30]
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Force of Will
4 Daze
3 Spell Pierce
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte
Sideboard [15]
3 Meddling Mage
2 Grim Lavamancer
2 Pyroblast
2 Wear//Tear
2 Rest in Peace
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Vendilion Clique
1 Flusterstorm
1 Pithing Needle
Deck feels great, but I really have trouble dealing with Chalice of the Voids and Blood Moons for some reason. They always seem to get me when I'm tapped out. But I guess that's the tradeoff for running such a low curve.
Also, Grim Lavamancer or red sweepers (like Electrickery or Pyroclasm)?
Let your Dredge 6 be: Narco, Narco, Narco, Bridge, Bridge, Dread Return
I have found love for containment priest for the board. Especially since people seem to be playing MUD a lot more lately. (thanks Ugin/Coercive portal)
