A very rough draft (in fact, I'm inexperienced with Cheerios as a whole), but the gist is instead of using banking on generating enough board presence or storm count to go lethal in a single turn, I would use Assault Formation to make the most of a short Glimpse of Nature chain over two or three turns. Especially if a few Shield Spheres stick.
EDIT: If a Mod feels this OP should be merged with Cheerios thread, then I must apologize for my own ignorance.
I've seen something similar before with Beastmaster Ascension, which seems to me to be a bit faster than Assault Formation even accounting for that extra mana. Could you explain that choice?
Like you said, the difference between 2 and 3 CMC is crucial, especially in a format such as Legacy. And there's also the matter that Assault Formation is useful without seven attacking creatures: a bonus since non-Elf Glimpse decks tend to fizzle often. Finally, Shield Sphere benefits much more from Formation than Ascension, with a difference of at least 6 damage.
Having said that, I can't believe I forgot about Diabolic Intent: I could use that over Burning Wish
Oh Goddamnit, I had a huge thoughtful thing and x'd out of it. Sigh. Ok, the gist was:
Deck is inconsistent as hell. A few copies of the UG fuse card, just to increase redundancy, might be warranted.
Scapegoat is bad, since you're not running enough of them to actually help you not fizzle (you need to be able to drop a Glimpse and have a threatening board state without the luck required to burn through your entire deck while relying on a 2-of or perfect sequencing). Black may be a better option than white, since it gives you access to Cabal Therapy in the board, and Disciple of the Vault, Spoils of Blood, etc could fulfill Scapegoat's role well enough. Also lets you play with some weird, interesting options. Tragic Slip? Diabolic Intent?
Hangarback is only good in that it draws you a card for free, yes? NEVER going to cast it, yes? Play Gitaxian Probe instead.
Land Grant is bad since you don't care if you have no lands left in your deck, gives your opponent a chance to screw you with a counter, play fetchlands instead. Stifle less prevalent than t0-1 counterspells.
Generally, though, this is bad. Real bad. Like, way worse than Belcher, even, bad.
I play this in more artifact way, with Salvage Titans, that help to continue the chain, if you ran out of gas. Possibly, will post the list I use for fun later.
Also, for the killing you need nothing but a single Concordant Crossroads.
Also, Gitaxian Probe and Street Wraith help to thick the chance to draw a Glimpse without the card disadvamtage of Personal Tutor (which should be Beck // Call, instead)
