Sad news! It's still awesome that you made it so far, though. Do you know what your overall standing is?

Mulligan to 3 was pretty tilting we can only guess. Good job either way, will wait for that report! :)

I know I played that entire G2 awfully and unfortunately it was recorded for all to see. I'm not going to make excuses, I had 4-5 shots to recover and get the game and possibly G3. Top 16 at a GP is still a great accomplishment for me.

    Oh well.

Quick Summary now that I'm home:
    R1: Bye (Delicious Crepes) W 1-0
R2: Bye (Turning my non-foils I've pimped into Workshops) W2-0
    R3: Dredge W 3-0
    R4: Storm W 4-0
    R5: UR Delver/Burn W 5-0
    R6: Shardless W 6-0
    R7: Oops All Spells W 7-0
    R8: BUG Delver (Saito) W 8-0
    R9: Aluren (Martin Goldman-Kirst) L 8-1
    R10: BUG Delver W 9-1
    R11: RUG Delver L 9-2
    R12: Esper Stoneblade W 10-2
    R13: Shardless W 11-2
    R14: Miracles W 12-2
    R15: Reanimator L 12-3

I am new to this deck and am having a hard time learning how to mulligan properly, particularly in G1. Anyone have any tips?

Hey guys. It is wonky tech time. I was browsing through a trade binder today and saw Favor of the Mighty.

Against something like ANT where the opponent has no creatures, this thing protects all of your Hatebears and other 2drops. As long as you don't cast your knights. They do only have a finite amount of decays. Having to fight through this thing before any of the other stuff is sweet, especially for stuff like pyroclasm.

This thing protects our knights well which is quite potent in many matchups.

It also stops infect from pumping their dudes if we don't have blockers.

In general, it protects all the creatures that matter from removal (most of the time)

There are obvious downsides but I'm excited to test it.

For some reason I can't see your deck list from that link you sent but regardless, huge congrats on your finish. 12-3 for a big GP like this is a very big accomplishment.

I'm very curious to see your complete sideboard, is that the 2nd TD and Pulse you wanted to add or are you running singleton's of them currently?

Very happy to see this deck performing well in a large event like this, seems like it's the real deal.

Awesome finish, man. I managed an impressive 4-4 at SCG Philly, so it's good to know at least one of us is competent enough to show the world who's boss. :V

After playing through 15 rounds, how do you feel about the Dark Depths combo?

I think that was one of the first things I said - "About time someone got this deck on the radar in US, instead of everyone giving me crap for playing non-blue". Though that does mean not as many opponents which have no idea of what level I'm interacting with them on, but hopefully this helps get some more people playing this against the Delver menace.

As for Stage/DD combo, I love it. It steals so many wins, and I'm never really at the point where I worry about the loss of the two other lands (Trimmed 2 Heaths for them). I think there was one hand I had to mulligan because DD didn't produce mana and I really needed a second mana land, but that was it, and I won that many more games by being able to race a TNN or a Gurmag Angler by going over the top. The reason I like it is that most opponents will have much more interaction with the GY and the KotRs, and when they get removed, it's very easy for the opposing creatures to just go and win the race. I'll talk about this more in the report, I believe I had only 7 games won off the Combo, so it's not that much, but at least 3 of those I know I would not have won if I didn't combo when I did.

Looks like I messed up during the copy-paste, even though other messages I sent with that list link went through. But it was linked above.

I want to add the Second Deluge and Pulse, even though amusingly I never cast Deluge or E. Plauge all tournament. But really what it comes down to is that I want a -2/-2 against DnT or Elves, and E. Plague against DnT is actually pretty crappy when you take into account that every creature MD is a Human. The other uses for Plague are to shut off Delver, Young Pyromance, and Mentor, but the first two I feel the matchups are already really good against and Pulse is brought in against Miracles anyways to remove Jace, so it can also just do a E. Plague impression and kill all the Monks (though only once, but typically I find that's all you need to get ahead)

Also, notes on my SB cards and how much I cast them (which may show that the SB is completely wrong, or my matchups are just all over the place to care):
    Thoughtseize - 1
    Leyline - 5 (3 Turn 0, 2 Hardcast)
    Thalia - 3
    Garruk - 1
    Deluge - 0
    Charm - 2
    Plague - 0
    Choke - 2
Slaughter Games - 0 (Got hit by discard twice against Aluren/Storm)
    Rec Sage - 2
    Priest - 3

    Hello all,

I play a lot of maverick/junk list on mtgo. I have also recently finished aggro loam online as well. If anyone is interested in watching the stream sometime and likes to give constructed criticism go ahead and follow me at http://www.twitch.tv/dneeley

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Went to a 84 person legacy tournament this past Sunday. I didn't change the maindeck at all and the sideboard was also fairly generic, except I played -1 Ajani Veagent, -1 Engineered Plague, +1 Leyline of the Void, +1 Night of Souls' Betrayal. I'm just not sure what matchup you want Ajani for since the + ability seems so underwhelming. I ended up going 5-2 and played against the following:

    Round 1 - Stax L (1-2)
    Round 2 - Omnitell W (2-1)
    Round 3 - RUG Delver L (1-2)
    Round 4 - Miracles W (2-0)
    Round 5 - Miracles W (2-0)
    Round 6 - Infect W (2-0)
    Round 7 - Death & Taxes W (2-1)

Really felt like there was nothing much to say about my losses. The stax matchup just felt awful as he played maindeck Sphere of Resistance, Lodestone Golem, Crucible of Worlds, Wasteland and Smokestack and I just couldn't cast any spells. Against RUG delver, I had the all fetchland draw and he had the turn 1 delver, turn 2 blind flip and I basically didn't get a second land in play as he had multiple stifles, dazes and wastelands waiting for me.

I did have a situation against Miracles where I had an early cycling land and loam and we were both flooding out with no pressure at all and I felt like I shouldn't dredge since I don't want to mill my action cards but I'm not sure if that was right. He was also flooding out with all basic lands so recurring wastelands wouldn't have done anything either. I did have a Punishing Fire so I was recurring it for 1 and 2 damage every turn but would dredging and cycling be better? I'm really not sure about this, anybody have opinions about this? At the end of the games, my opponent suggested to me that once I hit my second cycling land, he probably would have started to mill 3 and draw 2 extra cards every turn.

Played against Chase in Round 6 with 73/75 cards that you did, and went down 1-2. Had him G3 with T0 Leyline of the Void, T1 Chalice on 1, and proceeded to durdle without pressure until he recovered with his Singleton Echoing Truth to start going to work.

    Didn't feel good.

Also managed two losses to Merfolk on the day. How do we beat their combination of fast pressure and disregard for Chalice?
