So yesterday I had a chance to buy an Expedition Ancient Tomb for $130. I thought about it long and hard, and I still might get my playset, but I'm undecided as to whether or not I really want this version of the card in my pimped out MUD deck. The only other foil option is the FTV Tombs, which aren't exactly worlds better, but I have to say that the Expedition Tomb underwhelmed me a bit in person. The foiling process looks too uniform, like the card is just washed in foil, and the art is a little hum-drum.

I would go for the Tempest version with your favourite foreign language. The only factor to choose Expedition version of Ancient Tomb / Wasteland is if you prefer new borders or <> mana symbol.

Expeditions are terrible. Who's to say they won't keep doing reprints in the future making your reprint less cool. The original will always be the original.

I really liked the new art & certainly prefer it over the old one.

Quick question that I'm sure somebody in this thread could answer, what languages are available for foreign black border duals? I know German, French and Italian are available, but what about Russian or Korean? I want some amount of matching with my foreign language cards so this might determine what direction I take for the rest of my deck

"Foreign" black bordered dual lands were printed only in Third Edition, so you have to choose between German, French and Italian. Korean dual lands would be amazing, unfortunately Korean first basic set was 4th Edition, when also Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Traditional Chinese were released.

German, italian & french are the only languages, there is no other option for FBB. No dual is available in russian or japanese or korean in general.
Just english ones like alpha, beta, unlimited and revised.

What I like about Expeditions is that they are all consistent: Same frame, same foiling process, same artist, same everything. And I love the Ancient Tomb with the <><> symbols. That said, I own Onslaught/Zendikar fetchlands, MPR Wastelands, etc, so I'm not really interested in purchase the Expeditions :)

i´ve been putting together japanese miracles and lands, but i wanna start a foil processe to death & taxes since i like the deck and can be 100% foiled ! :D

the question is about basic lands, i still can´t figure out wich i like the most among all options, any sugestions here about your favourite guys ?

For foils, my favorite Plains is Coldsnap Snow Covered Plains. My wife has a stack of them in her EDH deck.
