This my mid-year pimp update. I wanted to wait until December to do an end of the year update, but a lot of people have been asking to see it together. As a result, I've decided to do a mid-year update. It's my elves deck. It's by far my favorite deck to play and I put my heart and soul into finishing it. I started playing Legacy around a decade ago and from the start, I knew I wanted to play Elves. It was fun and I was a high school student with little to no income. It was no where near tier 1 back then. Back then, it was an all-in combo deck with Summoner's Pact, Emrakul, and Grapeshot as the finishers.
Over the years, I slowly upgraded my deck. I took a break for a few years during college. When I came back, Elves became a whole new deck. With the new legend rule change which made Gaea's Cradle insane and the printing of Craterhoof Behemoth, Elves was finally good. I have a little more income now since graduating college and I upgraded from English nonfoil to English foil, and then now it's almost complete as Chinese foil. All of the alters were done by Scourge Alters. Right now he is frantically working on the side board and hopefully, the ENTIRE 75 will be complete by Christmas this year xD
So, here's the deck:
I plan to get almost every card altered eventually, so if anyone has any alter ideas, let me know!
When this deck is completely 100% Chinese foil and altered, i'll probably work on simplify chinese foiling a modern and vintage deck, career and/or future wife permitting :P
BONUS: Really crappy Modern deck progress: http://imgur.com/a/tKCRX (Most of it is S-Chinese foiled, except for random cards I can't find anywhere. This deck isn't a priority though, just a side project)
I totally like the style of the deck. The decent alterations are amazing. But the BB Unlimited lands... come on. Unlimited is soo beautiful. Also with white boarder. :)
I know this is not what normally would be posted here, but I think it is cool. I had a package arrived the other day, my new commander.

interesting and sort of nice, but why is it spliot in two?![]()
It's one of the oversized cards cut down to be the size of a normal card. The image is the details of the card on the back. That whole card is just art and it fits in that plastic protector in the images.
"Sort of nice." Wish you could see it in person.
Good posts lately. Jeez.
The purpose of any moat is to impede attack. Some are filled with water, some with thistles. Some are filled with things best left unseen.
Don't get to defensive here, I have no problem with your choices but don"t tell the man to stick to 2 languages if you are not doing it yourself even with the manabase only.
1) Yes but they exist in english, you could go Jpn+Eng or Jpn+Ita for all your lands, the Moat is the only problem but I'd rather have a SB card mismatched then my mana base.
2) I did not know that the price of the cards is important for CONSISTENCY? Why are you not playing guru lands then? I don't get why you don"t use jpn Basics in this deck, that is inconsistent to me
3) Yeah ok its more expensive, but again it doesn't help consistency
Looking at this I believe I should post my pimped-ish Nic Fit deck, where I run as much alternate art promo's as I can (sans the Pernicious Deeds b/c I refuse to spend so much money on something so ugly).
Did you know some of those promo's are cheaper than the normal, non-foil versions..? And I get complimented on how the deck looks?
Yeah.

Certain cards just look so right in certain languages.
