I haven't tried it without, would be curious to hear of your success. Heading to eternal weekend next week?
At this point basic mountain is what I'll try.

Unfortunately I can't. I live in Miami and can't travel that much. I'd love to get to Orlando though, but even that is a stretch.

Seeing Hdeck throughout the event was cool. I went 10-5 in the 15 round event. The games were sweet though. I unlocked the achievement of beating a turn one Iona, Shield of Emeria this weekend (see round 1 for details in my tournament report right herehttp://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/s...635#post954635).

Time for yet another stupid question.

Is it possible to cut Chalices and try Faithless Looting in the main deck? Or possibly cut chalices and blood moons, and add faithless looting + tormenting voice? Digging is nice, and makes the deck a little more consistent, but unlike the blue version, it still has no countermagic. Maybe something like this:

    Land - 20
    4 Ancient Tomb
    4 City of Traitors
    2 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
    10 Mountain

    Non-land Accel - 12
    4 Seething Song
    4 Simian Spirit Guide
    4 Lotus Petal

    Digging - 8
    4 Faithless Looting
    4 Tormenting Voice

    Cheating - 8
    4 Sneak Attack
    4 Through the Breach

    Primary Damage Sources - 12
    4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
    4 Inferno Titan
    4 Worldspine Wurm

    SB
2 Pyromancy (leyline of sanctity, pithing needle)
3 Blood Moon (general nonbasic hate)
    3 Faerie Macabre (grave hate)
2 Sudden Shock (spot removal that sticks)
2 Sulfur Elemental (dnt, or mentor - 8 miracles in top16 at gp columbus)
3 Trinisphere (slow down combo or countermagic)

No main deck protection of any kind? No thanks.

If your forgoing Chalice you better main deck 4 Pyro blasts to fight through counter magic, but even then it isn't something I would consider

Awhile ago I ran a version that played Sensei's Divining Top (with some fetchlands instead of Mountains), but the Chalice versions are just way better

My first version of the deck did this. It was good, chalice is better.

If you're not playing chalice you really have to be playing brainstorm.

(Sandstone still comes in tapped under a moon, UGH) The deck has to lower the curve if you cut needle. I'd also maindeck a koth or two. He's really good, but, needle->sol land->koth, is so bad. I don't think you want titans without needles. Probably a heavier presence of pyromancy in the main too.

From the last list you posted I'd probably:
    -3 titan +3 pyromancy
    -3 flex +2 koth +1 trinishpere

(If you can hit the 6 drop, a Godo and a Batterskull could replace 1 koth 1 pyromany/trinishphere (I like one 3ball in the main, it slows every non ancient tomb deck down and we're the fastest one of those, and it randomly gives you uncounterable turns)

Maybe Ill try cutting 1-2 needles and adding the appropriate mountains.

After being knocked out of top 64 last week from drawing the needle I absolutely hate it.

I may go back to trying Riddle of Lightning, I like the random trinisphere. It giving you uncounterability is amazing

    I don't blame you.

I've played them before, they're fun. Often think about throwing one in for spice.

In what matchups do you side in 4 trinispheres?

I find myself going up to 3 at most because these are the absolute worst in multiples

4 is a lot for cards that do nothing in multiples. They're awesome against Poison, Storm, Reanimator, Elves, Omnishow, RUg, UR.

Played in the legacy IQ today in Orlando. I say "played" loosely because no magic was played.

    Match 1
Game one on the draw, I mulligan to 5. Keep a potential turn 3 sneak. Opponent is on DnT. all i played was a sandstone needle that got wastelanded, a mountain and a petal.
SB out blood moons add in 2 Pyroclasms 2 sudden shocks 2 shattering sprees
Game 2 mulligan to 5. play a turn 2 sneak attack and draw lands for the next 6 turns.

    Match 2
Game 1 on the draw mulligan to 6 cards. Opponent mulligans to 5. He opens up with plains and Vial. I hardcast a turn 1 titan. He plows it. Turn 2 I sneak in a Worldspine wurm that gets plowed. What are the odds.
Game 2 Mulligan to 5 cards. my only mana sources were 2 sandstones needles and yup.. wastelanded.

    horrible morning

    whats the gameplan for DnT?

I've been running Sulfur Elementals in the SB lately for DnT.
Otherwise I'm guessing you just had bad luck. :(

Had an abysmal showing at EE4 this weekend. Must just not have been in the stars this weekend. Losses started with mulliganing to oblivion round 1, missing a batterskull trigger and losing the match round 2.

D&T....Be fast, play blood moon. The longer the game goes, the harder it gets for you.

With the increase of show and tell I'm adding one more emrakul in the main cutting an inferno Titan
