anyone have any suggestions for best board cards / ways to play again Miracles with Abzan Nic Fit? gives me some trouble sometimes :c
Also wanted to know if anyone has any archived streams of them playing nic fit can they let me know. I did a search on twitch for nic fit but there are not a lot of results.
You can't really play anything you want if you want to be successful. The deck is as budget as anything gets in Legacy, but you still have to play good cards.
A 1 of Pod is a very bad idea, Pod imposes some pretty strict deck building limitations, particularly in this format. If you're going to build within those limitations in order to get value, you're going to want it as a 4 of.
With Arbor and Library, blowing them up with Deed is fine, Arbor has as many GY interactions as it does on the board (and if it doesn't, why are you playing Arbor?). It's usually not too important if you blow up Library, it's not ideal of course but you're usually getting atleast a 2:2 out of it with the Deed and you'll have already cashed in the library for cards. You should never be afraid to blow up a Deed and take out some of your own cards.
I mostly focus on card advantage. Short of them putting down a Moat, which is pretty good against us, Miracles has no way to consistently handle 2 creatures on the board. With enough CA that type of pressure can be maintained as they usually try to rely on a counter/top lock to prevent that from happening long term. Terminus is their only answer to multiple creatures, if you have the CA to slog through 2-3 of them they can't do anything.
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad can be pretty good.
Eldrazi Displacer is extremely powerful. I lost to a white Eldrazi deck using it recently. It shields them from virtually all damage, and provides for an inevitable alpha strike. You cannot win the game through the combat step if it's on the field, and even if you remove it you're going to lose all your attacks for a turn.
Displacer is the best Eldrazi in the format, it's better than TKS or Reality Smasher. It's downside is the white makes mana tough. Sadly, our deck works against us here because the white Eldrazi decks that can play it include several Plains and Wastes so they're able to profit off our Explorers and each Explorer is basically one more card they can displace per turn.

Unconventional, but it did get me thinking. I've got some brewing to do.
Edit: The brewing I have in mind probably just improves consistency and might help deal with Miracles, but doesn't help one bit vs. fast combo. Might be worth it, might not be.
Eldrazi Displacer + triggered abilities = a lot of value. It's one of the cards I really, really want to run.
If you want budget, try Manaless Dredge. It's currently quite well positioned and can combo finish for free wins. Also, you catch quite a number of people off guard with it, for more free wins.
Displacer is nuts. I can't stress enough how much I want to make this card work in Nic Fit.
Edit: Maybe Eldritch Evolution allows us to abuse Eldrazi Displacer + Brood Monitor. Evolution puts it in the realm of what we can power out and can generate a LOT of triggers we can abuse the shit out of.
Edit 2: Or assemble Melira + Murderous Redcap + sac outlet. And running Melira would make for funny situations with Phyrexian Unlife. Probably The Danger Of Cool Things.

In the Primer, Arianrhad mentioned a weird five color pod list... Has anyone got a list together?
- Double white mana is a problem some of the time.
- Sometimes (rarely) we want to kill our own Veteran Explorer and really need a way of doing so.
- Having an answer to Glacial Chasm and Inkmoth Nexus is really handy.
- Everything hexproof or shrouded in the format (pretty much) has CMC<3 so we can just Deed or otherwise sweep it away.
Basically this. I like having a little land destruction somewhere in the deck.
I don't have the list around anymore -- not that it was actually updated in any way regardless. It was more intended to be an example of what was possible.
It ran a bunch of rainbow lands (City of Brass, Mana Confluence, possibly Gemstone Mine?), and then a bunch of basics....something like 3 Forest, 2 Swamp, 2 Island, 1 Plains, 1 Mountain, I think. And then it was just a pile of nonsense for the actual deck...Kiki combo was in there in all of its requisite parts, so there was a Restoration Angel, Kiki, Zealous Conscripts, Exarch, etc. Baleful Strix was the main 2-drop, but I think I had 1 Stoneforge with a Jitte present as well.
I dunno. Mess around with it.
Theoretically you could run a reasonably sized 5C manabase and have it be stable. Start off with 3 of every green/x fetch. At least 1 of each basic (probably 2 Forest) and 1 of each green/x dual. That's 22 lands w/ at least 14 initial manasources across the board and 18 initial green sources.
I don't know why you'd want it or what kind of deck you'd build with it, but it can be done.
Anyone want to whip up a list?
I'd start off with 4 Veteran Explorer, 3 DRS, 4 GSZ and whatever awesome shit one can come up with.
Any creature goes as long as it's (partially) green (unless we can come up with some other way to improve consistency). Maybe a couple of Tops and some Ponders/Brainstorms..?
Tireless Tracker seems like an auto-include with so many fetchlands. And some lifegain to compensate the lifeloss.
I don't think that the fetch/dual manabase is actually better than the rainbow manabase for 5c -- especially if you put it towards a Pod shell, where you'll be trying to incorporate the "best of the best" -- which frequently means wildly disparate mana costs. Yes, you want to be Podding into things more often than casting them, but some games you'd have to support GG, UB, UU, RRR, and WW, for example, which I just don't think is reasonably doable without rainbow.
Miracles is just a crappy matchup. What I did, board in a single Taiga, 3x Slaughter Games, and however many Extirpates I was running. You fetch up that taiga early and the first Slaughter Games normally names terminus, the second is FOW, however it all depends on the board state and which flavour of miracles they are running. Extirpating a juicy target when they go to draw with top is also nice, especially when you are anticipating a terminus / entreat.
The taiga is also there for bloodmoon, it is there to help with post / lands decks.
Speaking of Blood Moon, Jund might be the place for the Eldritch Evolution ideas to actually work. Mainly because sacrificing a Veteran Explorer to EE and getting a Swamp, a Forest and a Magus of the Moon is pretty good game against a lot of decks, particularly lands. Maybe taking some other ideas from the 5c Humans lists and running Cavern of Souls and Scab-Clan Berserker?
edit:
I have no idea if this is good, but it looks not bad.
- Stabilises the board against YP, Delvers, Strixes and most things in DnT. Effective against everything that threatens our life totals aggressively before we can sweep the board. Obviously not as good as an actual sweeper, but does other things. Slows down every agressive deck enough that they have to overextend and get Deeded.
- Kills our own Veteran Explorers in case of emergency.
- The -2 is where the money is at. Milling 2 lets us clear cards from Top, and recurring Witness and other value creatures is a pretty good way of winning a grind.
- The ult isn't too relevant but is really painful for Miracles to deal with, which is where she's most likely to get there. Getting the zombies on your end step means they turn up immediately after popping the ult, and if they ever don't sweep the board in their turn they get pressured.
Also, the plus 1 gives your creatures an advantage in combat which is what many don't realize when evaluating these types of effects. I think it is worth testing...
Edit: Has anyone tried Garruk, Primal Hunter in this deck?
It protects itself by plus +1, provides card advantage by -3, and has a game-winning ultimate -6.
It can take over the game all by itself the turn after you play it by making a 3/3 then drawing 3 cards...

I wouldn't worry about the D&T matchup, we're pretty heavily favored there. Anyways, the real question with this card is why you're not just running LotV? On the one hand a +1 is better than a -2 for removal, but on the other LotV's +1 is a form of resource conversion that can only be matched with Brainstorm or a JTMS 0.
I would actually argue that the mill 2 is a detriment to this deck, milling rarely works well with a toolbox. The worst case scenario is you need a particular card but not at this moment, mill it, and now you can't GSZ it, and of course it's very vulnerable to Ooze/DRS.
The real Liliana card is her Oath. That thing is nuts with PW's. 3 mana 2 for 1's are always worth a second look, and it automatically gives and PW some protection. I don't know if this is the deck or the format for Oath of Liliana (my opinion of PW Fit isn't very high after the last few weeks of trying it), but I do know it's the piece that PW decks need to be competitive.

I disagree. Needing GG, RRR, UU and WW is a choice. You can limit yourself to cards that need 1 mana of a specific colour max. Ergo Siege Rhino yes, Sigarda no. Anyways, it's not like we're actually planning on building 5C Nic Fit so why bother?
Yes, succes in Standard equals succes in Legacy.
What's it with all these random accounts popping up in this threat posting such outlandish stuff?
From the shores of Reddit to our own personal hell.
I'm still going to be trying SFM-Rhinotime for a while. I don't see much changing since, well, the meta hasn't changed. More Winter Orbs popping up isn't exciting, but again, Deed.
I'll try out Master of the Wild Hunt and see how it goes. I still think the red splash is fine in Junk for Moon and Games. I think if you're cutting Taiga and moving to straight GBW, I'm not sure how we're even trying to win Eldrazi, and Miracles becomes a tad harder. Not sure where we pick up points, there.
