It brings (E: it does not bring) the same amount of power, without leaving a trampling body.
Still, I don't think it passes the Thragtusk-Sigarda test at 5 cmc.

Missed the "each of those creatures" part :D
It still lacks trample though, and its ability relies on both the creatures surviving. But as I said there are better 5 mana alternatives

I should have probably say that instead of; a crappy card is better, so why bother.

I still prefer Sigarda for my 5 mana slot. Evasion is pretty good, and so is hexproof.

When it comes to 5cmc finishers, I love the feel of Sigarda. The floor is really high. However, does anyone else feel like she has a low ceiling?

I would like to look at something with a higher ceiling as a potential alternative. What are people's thoughts on Titania?

Have someone tried Grim Flayer in Nic-Fit? I think someone on the thread has tested him.

I want to try him out on the Jund build. I want to something that can dig and there is no issue to add P. Fire in the graveyard.

We have almost all card types in the deck so get delirum is not hard to get.

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but... The Danger Of Cool Things. Yes, she can cause some incredible blowouts, but she also sucks at blocking and dies to a fucking Lightning Bolt @5 mana.

It's been discussed. I'm glad you defined what you'd want him for. However, let's look at a few possible scenarios for a second.
Scenario 1: It's early in the game, your opponent has a few 1/1s. Can Flayer do what you want it to? No.
Scenario 2: It's the mid game, your opponent has had the time to deploy a bigger threat. Batterskull, a random Eldrazi, Gurmag Angler. Can Flayer do what you want it to now, even with Delirium? Still no.
Scenario 3: It's later in the game, you have plenty of mana and topdeck a GSZ. Is Flayer good enough to GSZ for? No.

Having to turn sideways is usually a big no-no for card filtering/CA cards. The above explains why.

If you want to dig, just run 4 SDT and a higher than normal number of shuffle effects. 10 fetch, 4 GSZ, 4 Veteran Explorer and perhaps a Diabolic Intent should do it.

Actually, I don't find it that easy. What is worst is that I keep records of these kind of things (yes, I'm weird) and my average turn to reach delirium (when I do) is Turn 6.

(That looks a bit weird to write)

It's actually incredibly valuable that you do. Could you share the decklist you use for this? This gives us an idea of in what context your testing takes place.

It also implies that my descriptions of the various scenarios aren't that far off.

I think scenario 1 is where Flayer can do something. If the 1/1s are not tokens, then trade 1 for 2 is a good deal. Also Flayer has trample so if the blocker was a 2/1 we will still get the trigger. The opponent has to block or removel to stop our trigger and I can deal with that. We can get lots of value if Flayer hits.

Anyhow, he maybe too small and too aggrasive for Nic-Fit.

I love titania, I run her in the sigarda slot in my rhino fit.
She's so good not just on offence where she excells, but also defense making multiple blockers. Then a quick transition from defense to offence.
She's so good as a 5 drop I've moved tusk to the board as he's very rarely a better choice, even against aggressive decks (as titania kills threats through combat, and I have rhinos for life).
I also run 1 wasteland and 1 horizon canopy and a prime titan main. She's also valid in the long game to get back stronghold for example.

The issue I had with Titania was that I didn't have lands in my graveyard when I wanted to cast her. So have more lands that can get in the graveyard is goodd.

What do people feel about Meren? I think she has only been REALLY good agnaist BUG decks. Other times, the graveyard is empty with cretures and she don't do anything. Also that she is legendary so Karakas is bad for us. I would rather have Thrun, the Last Troll, he is least REALLY hard to deal with.

This is pretty good, is it better than any other 5 cmc PW? I think it closes the game fastest with some upside.

If a 5/5 is enough protection for a turn, the emblem is a powerful card advantage effect.

Provides a reasonable clock on an empty board.

Buys back Deed or threats, including other copies of herself.

Doesn't stabilize particularly well against multiple threats, but at least has high loyalty and demands an answer if we aren't dead on board or close to it.

Clearly ridiculous if we make her on turn two off Tower.

    Might be worth a look.

I could see her coming down turn 4 or 5, making a 5/5 blocker, then either returning Deed if we're pressured, or making an Emblem to give us CA in a grind fest.

Ha yea, was super disappointed until I realised you could ultimate the turn after you play her and get irremovable tracker on crack. Her 5/5s are super relevant in the format right now (shame they don't trample, yes I can still complain..) she has the ability to crush shardless and other midrange decks, can out card advantage miracles (but ive been wrecked many a time by mentor while durdling with card advantage..) and she sucks against combo (at least she's a hasty 5/5!) and delver/aggro.

I wonder if she's sideboard material or if we should be jamming her then siding her out.
    Junk and Stoned Rhinos.

I run 8 fetches, a wasteland, and a horizon canopy. I don't really have that problem by the time she comes down.. Ever actually.
Love meren, he's value city against all fair decks. Get a tower and start sacing rhinos or whatever, combat trades and what not. Worst case you'll have an Explorer or something to bring back, I've normally got a scooze/pridemage/ewit/tracker/nissa in there by the time he comes down. Even against control if he's not immediately dealt with (which he shouldn't be because he comes down after they've dealt with a ton of your stuff) he's more value than trump without needing to untap (though not quite etb value).

Thrun I've cut completely very early on. He can't get through goyfs, is chumped for days, doesn't survive the common wraths like terminus or deluge. Sure, some matchups can struggle against him, but there are better things for those matchups. Like combat walkers. Just save a therapy/duress/tz

I think this one has potential. I run both tracker and garruk primal Hunter. It may be worth replacing one of those two. It may just be a better relentless.. Less explosive, but more stable in the long run and from worse board states. Also doesn't need 3 green
