Well it deserves a mention because legacy is the cantrip format. And we can all circlejerk about how awful it is. Lets compare it to ponder?
“Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.
So far the only cards I've seen that might possibly have some use in legacy are Selfless Squire (most likely SB only), Vial Smasher the Fierce (if it turns out that either Fireblast, Force of Will and/or Delve-cards can make it work) and Conqueror's Flail (probably not in DnT, but maybe in Bant Stoneforge or another Stoneforge-deck to shut off enemy counterspells so that it's easier to fight combo?). I don't have much hope for Conqueror's Flail. I can definately see Selfless Squire have some SB-applications, as Recruiter tutors for it and it has both "human" and "soldier" creature types. It can be cool use against everything from Marit Lage, Craterhoof Behemoth, possibly Burn (obviously not as good as Warmth, but Squire has broader application?).
I have the Impulse to play Lim-Dul's Vault

Armory Automaton 3
Artifact Creature - Construct
Whenever Armory Automaton enters the battlefield or attacks, attach to it any number of target equipments. (Control of Equipment doesn't change)
2/2
2 cheaper than Vulshok Battlemaster and colorless? Any use for it?
I don't think so, since your opponent still controls the equipment. You can't go into combat with it, as your opponent would all the benefits from it like lifelink (Batterskull), Jitte counters and Sword of X & Y triggers. And since they control it, they can just switch to another of their creatures. Armory Automaton is terribly designed.
does it right by actually giving you the equipment.
I know it probably won't see Legacy play, but it'd be super sweet if it did.
Well, you can still use it to cheat equip costs (something which you might want to do with Sunforger), and retaining control makes Cranial Plating a lot nastier to steal.
Also, batterskull gives lifelink and vigilance to the creature, so stealing it would be a good move.
You do get life from Batterskull: The vigilance and lifelink are properties of the equipped creature, not Batterskull itself. Stealing Jitte or a Mirrodin Sword won't get you much, though. One exception: Stealing the opponent's Sword of Feast and Famine and whacking them with it makes them discard a card, not you (wording is if combat damage to a player, that player discards a card). They still get the untap though.

Green, so it can be fetched out with Natural Order or Green Sun's Zenith?
Has evasion (Trample) so that you can swing him into an enemy team and still usually get the effect?
I think this is absolutely playable as a value card if you've got the Green Toolbox going on. However, it can't see serious play unless there's some way to spin it into an instant win. Is there? I mean, once you resolve him, each Brainstorm / Ponder / Bolt / Elf casts Hypergenesis / Ancestral Vision.
Now we're talking!
