I think witness is the better option. Witness also gets back Chalice (he does as well, but only on 0 which is bad in most matchups), GSZ, Removal or Sideboardcards/Planeswalker depending on the build. This guy ramps us, what we do not really want. Other Options are Confidants, Scooze, Teeg or Sylvan Library. Thats about it i think.
BTW question on MatsOle. Do you have kind of a streaming shedule ?
If wastelanding twice per turn is 'ramp', then I definitely want to be doing it.
Thing is, Witness is freaking Glacial. It isn't too often that we are okay paying 3-4 extra mana for a card. If we are that deep into the late game, we tend to be favored anyway.
Comparing Rallier and Witness feels a little bit like comparing Shardless Agent and Wistful Selkie. They are different in important ways, but there is a lot to be said for mana efficiency.
The card looks crazy good, maybe needs some testing. One insane use is multiple wastelanding, but are we cutting space just for the ability of double wastelanding once? This deck is usually tight as fuck as people can't always figure out their mana for the sake of including the DD combo.
It sounds like it's rather yet another insane tool for Maverick instead, as it can bring back many other cards, specially after combat phase. In Aggro loam that would probably mean Dark Confident at most to keep the pressure? This card is sheer tempo swing, that's for sure, but in Aggro Loam it's generally more of a value focused strategy.
But again, maybe testing will say if it's worth.
I've watched Mats stream a bunch and the deck looks awesome. I've played a few matches with it and the sideboarding still seems nonoptimal. Has he or anyone made a sideboard guide? With the GP coming up it would be a big help, at least for the most popular decks.
Fast doesn't seem like what you want here. You can get your non-Knight creatures and lands straight onto the battlefield, but is that worth not being able to get back a Decay/GSZ/Liliana/Deluge/StP? If you're struggling in early turns and need more mana, I'd rather have a Deathrite as a GSZ target. Late game, you can Waste twice one time, but if you're on that plan isn't Loam better?
I'm definitely not saying this card is what the deck wants. But I do like at least starting the conversation about fringe playables. I am talking about speed because the biggest penalty with Witness is that it is too slow against opponents that try to win, and only really desirable when we have 5-6 mana whereas this is live in more important parts of the game
Enchantment [Uncommon] BW
Revolt - At the beginning of your end step, if a permanent you controlled left the battlefield this turn, create a 1/1 colorless servo token.
{1}, sacrifice a creature: Scry 1
Another fringe playable? At first i thought it was great. Then after a nap i looked at it again and realized you can scry/create servos only during your turn. Still i always want to test new cards.
We don´t really have to fetch eot of the opponent so we can do this in our turn, as well as wastelanding.
So the GP is getting close! I think I'm settling on my typical list except im playing 1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance instead of the Choke in the sideboard. Please feel free to criticize me with good reason, im open to suggestions.

@Mats
Will you please stream this weekend so that we have something to watch besides the Super Sunday Seres (as a form of protest of course ;)
Close to my 75 in Prague.
I took the combo over 4th decay+swamp, but I think you will get plenty of D&T/Lands and Miracles, so the combo is not great there.
I also agree that you should not take choke. Miracles players are packing 2-3 wear/tear nowadays so it is not a safe bet.
Against Miracles Planeswalkers are the way to go, never tested Chandra nor Arlin Kord, so I can't tell which one is better.
Would love to fit a containment priest in the sideboard, in Prague I took over the choke/arlin and it was awful(played against fair only) but I think it is well positioned right now. Don't know what to cut though
Not playing Choke is an interesting thought. Previously my response would be that there are so many blue decks and this is another haymaker when you have a lot to take out. Even getting it destroyed buys often us a bunch of time.
I want choke against these decks:
Omni-Tell
Sneak&Show
Miracles
Stoneblade
High-Tide
Merfolk
Anything with 2 basic Islands (as Stone Rain with huge possible upside)
ANT (if your initial disruption succeeds in slowing them)
I'd love to be convinced to drop it.
I don't like Choke much either. I've liked Ob Nixilis Reignited amd Xenagos, the Reveler as my third planeswalkers for grindy matchups, but I'm not sure any of those are better than just another Garruk.
I was watching some of Mats' old videos the other day, Chandra seemed awesome whenever he played it, although double red is isn't ideal in the casting cost.
Has anyone ever tried Boil instead of Choke? They're trying to blow up all your lands with From the Ashes, it seems only fair to return the favor. 4 mana ain't no thing against them and being an instant is pretty cool.
Does one prefer to play choke as a preemptive measure or as a "gotcha!" card? I suppose it depends on the MU and board state.
It indeed depends on the boardstate. But Choke does work best if your opponent is tapped out and it 'traps' them. Preamptive Choke means your opponent is slowed but gives more options to find an answers. Also mind the nr of cards in your opponents hand. It could be lands for all you know. Also there is a risk on Brainstorm in response if they have mana untapped when you cast Choke. Uncracked fetches, etc. So you see, it is better to cast Choke at the 'right' time to 'lock' them out.
