Damn, that's awful. I hope you're able to salvage something! I guess in these situations it's hard to prove that you haven't emptied it out yourself (not accusing you of that of course), maybe they can track log ins with IP addresses?
If you do get running again at some point in the future I'll donate some bits, enjoyed your streams a lot.
That sucks. Talking in technical terms:
- each individual card "should" have an unique ID so they should be able to track them
- the platform should register every IP location when accessing the account(and should have ways to block it and should have two factor auth....)
- it should also register every transaction/trade an account made so it should be traceable.
But it is MTGO after all, so nothing is a given.
Here is me hoping you get all back
That sucks Mats best of luck. I really enjoyed your stream and learned a lot from watching you play
Mats that's a really shitty situation that some ass hole put you in. I hope it works out for you and wizards showed good faith. On a side note are you going to stop all together or just this one deck?
Mats, that's awful. Send me a PM if wizards doesn't refund you, I'd want to donate to you so you could get your Loam cards back. Watching you stream taught me a lot about the deck and it would be a damn shame if you couldn't play it anymore just because of some random piece of shit on the internet.
First of all thanks a lot guys for the support.
Well they took all my rares, mythics, tix, boosters and special cards, so all i have left is play points, commons, and uncommons, so i'll be stuck playing some draft and pauper for the moment. So maybe i can stream that, but i don't really enjoy it as much as legacy.
We will certainly help. Next time I see you on, Mats, I'll help you out. Thanks for the streams!
Edit: Just to tell you what you've done for me: I only found that you lost your cards because I went on The Source to learn more about the 4c list. I have in front of me one of the decks you put together so that I can goldfish it. I used to play Loam about 5 years ago when it ran Tarmogoyf and Seismic Assualt. I was pumped to find that you can do well even without the Tarmogoyfs. I sold mine and have been looking for competitive aggro decks without it. You've rekindled my interest in the deck and thank you for that.
Hey All,
I currently play BG depths that uses a lot of the same cards as aggro loam (Mox diamond, Chalice, Liliana, Loam, Wasteland etc) but I am interested in trying out this more creature based version as well since I have Bobs, a Scrubland and a Savannah and most of the other cards I need aren't too expensive (Knight, GSZ etc).
However, I don't have Groves and I am really resistant to buying them at their current price. Does anyone play without red at all? How often does Grove+Pfire win you games in this deck? Wondering what the landbase would look like for just 3 colour and how the rest of decklist might shift to adjust.
Thanks!
and MatsOle, sucks to hear about your situation. Hopefully Wizards will help you out.
It's not really about killing people with the grove/fire combo it's more that it's an engine that kills your opponent, planeswalkers and creatures that synergies really well with the rest of your deck. I'd say it's a pretty essential part of the deck.
If you don't want groves but want to play a rock style of deck i'd look at The Rock.
One possibility to consider is taking a stompy route with Thalias and perhaps SFM; it's something I've been mulling over the past few weeks, kinda like the Stone-Cold Junk Humans deck you'd see on occasion in vintage. Of course, that runs Caverns, which is also pricey.
I will get Groves someday, I was hoping they would be reprinted in MM2017.
I am thinking about a list like this, keeping most of the deck intact. 4 slots open. Since I am cutting Pfires would it make sense to slot in extra removal? What about Hymn for some 2cmc discard? Or is it truelove unplayable without Gorve+Pfire? Thanks for the input.
Alternatively I could keep red in and use Kolaghan's command in the Pfire spot

I wouldn't play the deck without Punishing Fire and Grove. It's so good in so many matchups. Good luck trying to beat D&T or Elves without it. Elves especially is traditionally an abysmal matchup and for B/G based decks and Punishing Fire single handedly turns it into a decent matchup (though chalice obviously helps too). It also helps you slog through planeswalkers and can really be invaluable against miracles because it keeps Jace in check and with enough land helps deal with a medium sized entreat. It also has great synergy with Liliana and Loam. If you want to play a deck like this without that combo, you'd be better off playing Maverick.
Alright well maybe I will prioritize buying Groves before the other stuff I need, thanks. I currently play Un-punishing Jund too so I would get multi deck use out of the Groves. I definitely want to play a Loam shell and not Maverick/etc.

I think you can build the BG Rock Depths as a stand in (whatever brew is popular over there), turn it into BGW Rock with Knights, then flesh out into full 4C Loam with the punishing fires. All of this with Mox-Chalice designs, just fill out Collective Brutalities, Libraries, Toxic Deluge/Pulse in place of Punishing Fire.
I think you can substitute Crop Rotations for extra pieces of Grove in the mean time. Not the exact same thing, but can let you run the depths combo too.
I'll check out the rock depths lists, thanks for the tip. My current version of BG loam depths only plays Hexmage and Marit Laige as creatures in the maindeck, which can make certain matchups really tough because I am always relying on DD to win. That's why I became interested in these Aggro Loam lists. I mostly want to find a good list that can still get the combo, but can have higher threat density for long grindy matchups. Knight just seems like the perfect creature for a deck like this.
Some variants of dark maverick also run the fun-of combo, which is certainly a grindy deck that doesn't run groves (usually).
I play Loams sometimes.
I haven't been keeping up on things here for a while, What is the logic behind the Cabal Pit?
If you are asking from my list, I was trying to fit in extra removal since I was considering going without Grove +Pfire, but in general it's removal that can be recurred with Loam as long as you keep threshold. I think some other posters have actually tested it in this deck, but I have only used in other Loam variants.
