Re: [Announcement] Northern Virginia Legacy Draft

This event was a lot of fun for the folks that came down from Syracuse to attend this event. Hopefully, in the near future there will be another big tournament in Virginia that we can come down for. I was really nice to see everyone from Virginia. Thanks to URABAHN for hosting all of us for the weekend. It was a great time and all of us had a lot of fun.

Hope to see everyone soon at Eli's next tournament here in Syracuse.

I think I was the only person to literally get covered in awesome sauce this weekend.

This event was a blast. I am so tired it hurts.

Re: [Announcement] Northern Virginia Legacy Draft

I posted a general report in the Enchantress thread, but Props and Slops:

    Props -

My Hello Kitty Riding a Motherfucking Unicorn Diary, for keeping track of life and being responsible for every game I won.
My fiance, for acquiring said Diary from a Happy Meal, and knowing me well enough to save it for me.
The Hatfields for the majority of the deck, even if the trace stains from Dovescape were probably responsible for every game I lost.
Mr. Nipples for the Moat and Words of War, and the good luck butt grab.
Mr. Nightmare for the Holistic Wisdom, and for driving the Newb Yorkers down.
Happy Gilmore; don't put me on the back burner, you know you gotta help me out.
Tagea for suggesting Long Hammer IPA
Anwar, Zohar, zulander, and Krieger for running this shindig in a place that I can actually get to.
T is for Tool for the booze, especially the Maker's Mark.
Wastedlife for not getting any maple syrup on the couch. Classy.
Everyone who gave Elspeth and I congratulations.
Everyone who played Breakfast for taking the first step in killing storm combo.
All the Newb Yorkers and out of towners for making it.
Allan, for hosting Friday and providing an emergency ironing board.
Fudd's for hosting this and having a decent price on beer.
Everybody who was there for being generally awesome and reminding me why I sometimes miss this game(yes, even Calosso).
Enlightened Tutor SB plan for being pretty svg.

    Slops -

All the Newb Yorkers, for leaving Kaddy behind.
    Gronx, for showing up late.
Jack, for wasting my moneyz and then getting a fucking Akroma and skittles when I told him to get a dual.
Mountain Dew, for attacking my Chinese Argothians.
Me, for playing terribly and not having Ground Seals MD.
Early one morning while making the round,
    I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down;
I went right home and I went to bed,
I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head.

I wish I was one of the organizers but I don't deserver your props for setting this up. All the props go to zohar, anwar and krieger. However, I am a key ingrediant to people having fun and for that I thank you for propsing me.

Yeah, my wife and I are going to hammer out a strategy for next time. I feel awful that some of the folks who were trying to sleep couldn't because of people who weren't spending the night. I also feel bad that we didn't have enough to drink. Maybe next time people who aren't staying over will need to head out around 1:30am so that people who want sleep can get some. Also, I'm thinking Gina and I will provide more dinner, lunch, breakfast, and drink for a nominal fee to our overnight guests.

    One more thing,

Don't be hard on yourself... I thought you were an excellent host. It's always a risk to host a bunch of magic players for consecutive nights, but I thought you did just fine.

Ground/pound was david's version of loam control and gagroll is still tech that I don't think he wants out yet. But from what I've seen he thinks he can steal my naming conventions.

I just made that distinction because BHWC is really the only one that uses Pernicious Deed as its sweeper (I think that's the defining difference). The other decks are usually UW with some splash. They usually use Wrath of God or Humility as mass removal. I'm not sure it really matters for the purpose of looking at the metagame, but that's how I saw it.
