Large events for Legacy due not occur very often. When they do, the results are very influential because they provide evidence to what is viable in the format. This thread is to keep an ongoing list of all results from large events. Large for the purposes of this thread will be any tournament with thirty-three (33) or more participants (effective 04 October 2007). By DCI Floor Rules, 33 players is the minimum for a tournament with six (6) swiss rounds. This thread is listed chronologically. Bardo's thread on The Mana Drain was the basis for this thread.

The tournaments listed above are limited to the ones that occurred in America. I've recently been made aware that such large tournaments occur in Germany and in other locations outside the US on a regular basis. All posted tournaments had at least 33 players just like the American tournaments (corresponding with a minimum of 6 swiss rounds). Lukas Preuss provided most of the German information to me. By an overwhelming majority, the MTS Legacy Adepts, Moderators and Administrators voted this week to drop the attendence required for Legacy tournaments to be recorded in this thread from fifty (50) to thirty-three (33) players.
The original 50 player minimum was an arbitrary throw-back from the origins of this thread that began at TMD lo those many months ago. Fifty is such a nifty number in a decimal system, but as arbritrary as 47 or 81 or anything else for that matter.
Going to 33 is a more rational system as that is the minimum number of players required for a six (6) Swiss round tournament, per the DCI Tournament Organizer's Handbook.
The change to our reporting scheme will not be retroactive, and will be effective for all Legacy tournaments effective October 4, 2007.
Please do NOT post in this thread. We'd lock it, but then Anwar would not be able to edit the thread periodically. I guess that we could create a special forum for this thread, then create a special member group for Anwar, and then make it that only the special member group Anwar could post in that forum, but that sounds like a whole lot of work.
The easier way to handle this is to have you NOT post in it.

Please note that we have an interesting issue to deal with for this update: too many tournies! Since we have 13 new tournies, we decided to make a minor revision to the DTBF qualifications.
First, for the DTBF update, we will consider the past month's new tournaments or the past 10 new tournaments - whichever is greater. Using this method, we will not discount any new tournaments.
For updates that will include more than 10 new tournies, we will be using a percentage based qualifier. Here they are below:
