Manamorphose: This could really help belcher out. Wizardz must have noticed the decline in storm combo and the rise in dredge. This works with elvish spirit guide AND simian.
mujadaddy "Creatures SHOULD be more powerful, on balance, than spells. Spells in the general sense are more flexible. Creatures only, in the general sense, beat on you.
A 3/2 flyer for 3 isn't power creep, really; qv Skittering Skirge & Hypnotic Specter."
This is a deep understanding of the design of magic you have shown. Creatures are something that always must be factored into the equation. You must prepare for how to deal with creatures. They are the most efficient damage dealing permanents. As a child I thought craw wurm was crap because its a vanilla 6/4 for 6. I always thought creatures should have relatively close power and toughness to its cc. Even with an ability unless that ability is REAALY good. I have seen way too many over costed creatures over the years. Now wizardz just printed a cycle with a whole slew of 6/6 for 6 and the green one, Cloudthresher, is 7/7! with a bunch of great abilitys to boot.
So there is a power creep in a sense I think. I know there have been better vintage creatures then craw wurm. but it does feel like wizardz is raising the bar on creature power and toughness a little. In the overall sense not just a few rares. Not that I'm saying its a bad thing, I'm actually quite glad to see it. And I think It will make for fun drafting.
You probably have discussed this but Ashenmoor Gouger looks nasty In dead guy ale, red death, or mono black. Black is definitely getting some nice beef lately. Never underestimate a bunch of discard and some fatties. especially if storm combo is entering the meta game. I would play it over negator but thats just me.
Manamorphose doesn't produce mana though, cards that fill that role seem too vital to cut for a cantrip.
Perhaps your right, I'm not a belcher player. But it does give storm some flexibility as far as fixing color.
The card draw is fractional mana/storm generation, but if Manamorphose and Wild Cantor support Dark Ritual, then all the deck is doing is cutting a bad ritual for a better ritual.
Seething Song is really bad, I routinely SB it out against control, so it's not that radical of a suggestion.
What do you guys think of Guttural Response? It's some kind of pseudo Green Elemental Blast, obviously worse than REB/Pyroblast, but I think that it can become a SB card like REB against blue decks, considering REB is much more used as a counter.
We tried to copy the Source, but then we realized we're spanish
If my post results dumb or offensive, it's probably just me miserably failing at being ironic in a foreign language
Probably okay in Standard and Extended. I can't imagine it being amazing in Legacy.
Wizards preview card today:
Augery Adept

Rare
Creature - Kithkin Wizard
Whenever ~this~ deals combat damage to a player, reveal the top card of your library and put that card into your hand. You gain life equal to its converted mana cost.
2/2
Seems ok, but seeing as how Dimir Cutpurse isn't really seeing play, I doubt this will.
EDIT: Just saw Manamorphose tonight. It's redic.
An obverse Cutpurse, a new pet card for me. (yay)
So far Shadowmoor as given some good creats, maybe we will get some good spells???? Maybe.
"The combination is 12345"
"That's the combination an idiot would put on his luggage!"
"That's amazing, that's the same combination I have on my luggage....."
God Bless Spaceballsand Mel Brooks
It's Phid+ in mono-white. Don't know if that means anything in legacy, but mono-white phid seems pretty cool.
KIDS WITH GUNS!
I like how Wizardz is taking all the decent cards and making them better rendering the old ones obsolete. The thing I like about this set is the overall consistently good cards that are coming out. maybe not great (for legacy,) but not weak. Legacy usually gets a couple great cards every set no? It seems like Wizardz dedicates a couple of cards with Legacy and vintage in mind each set. Save some of the greats like Urza and Mirrodin. I haven't drafted Lorwyn or Morning Tide yet but I will DEFINITELY be drafting this set. It looks like a blast to play.
Hmm, I kind of like the idea of having a Phid in White. Too bad white's still hurting for good solid cheap casting stuff. He won't see play except in my multiplayer decks.
New Goblin:
Bloodmark Mentor
Goblin Warrior (U)
Red creatures you control have first strike.

Guys, I'm a little new to the game still, so this might sound naive:
Was ravnica like this? I was perusing Salvation's spoiler thing-y and ~half the cards are hybrids. Was Rav this cool? Is this way more than usual?
