I don't know how many times I can say it. The issue is not if it is played a certain percent, it is the fact that he choose it as opposed to an impartial party.
Also, how can you say that it is standard because people post it on that thread? In the UGr Thread, there was a time when for pages and pages people had Burning Tree Shaman in their build, is that standard?. In the Top 8 Decklists thread, I counted (manually, so I might have missed some) 8-9 UGw Thresh decks, 3 of which ran predict, and some ran it as a 2 or 3 of. Only a couple ran Pithing Needle main.
Let me restate it. Bryant choosing a pretty standard isn't good enough if he wants to prove a point, if there is not universally accepted list, then he cannot choose the list. You further proved my point by posting those statistics, if 50% of the decks on that thread play Predict, even if those are not the lists that are top 8ing, then why does he get to choose one of those?
Then there's no available list as no list is universally accepted![]()
It's a matter of general consensus and point to prove. They're trying to see which one fares best against the current blue-based control archetypes - ie in the blue-based decks found in most metagames.
If :
-there's a UGw list to choose
-3 out of 4 UGw Thresh decks run predict
-you have to choose testing against one with predict and the other without
then the logical choice is testing against one with Predict. It's not even debatable.
It is clearly debatable. Where you get your information from is very debatable.
The whole argument is moot as long as Wastedlife and Emidln both agree to use the same list, picking a list from the UGW thread is superior to letting an "impartial" person pick their own list and tailor it to either match up. The list should be random, so just have both Wastedlife and Emdiln pick a number from 1 to the last page of the Threshold thread, divide it by 2, round up and take the first page off of the list.
ZOMG, Predict could throw the match because it can counter FT's Mystical Tutor! But wait, Blue Elemental Blast could counter TES's Vexing Shusher!
Stop quibbling.
They don't get to tailor it. I was under the impression that they choose "their list"
Edit: It doesn't matter anymore. The lists have been chosen and everyone is happy with them.
Alright? Is the bickering done so I can start testing?
You haven't started yet? The bickering will never stop, but that doesn't mean much. Get going!
I'm waiting on Taco and Freakish.
Bryant and I are starting tonight, Emidln has some exams to study for, so we're scheduled to play Wednesday.
This is being taken into a new thread.
