You're right when you say that you don't want to activate when you could attack. Maybe that card fits more the Rock playstyle ? As a glittering wish target for instance, but not only.
The Knight of the Reliquary has some advantages:
Pull fetches->forests for extra growth.
Pull hideaway lands and help meet the conditions - though this may be win-more.
Start out at 2/2 which can make him bigger than terravore, and keeps him from dying if something wipes out the graveyards.
Can be played from the GY using Haakon, Stromgald Scourge.
Knight of the Reliquary 1GW
Creature - Human Knight
Knight of the Reliquary gets +1/+1 for each land card in your graveyard.
T, Sacrifice a Forest or Plains: Search your library for a land card, put it into play, then shuffle your library.
2/2
Meh, looks interesting.
EDIT: Wow. Sorry I'm super late to the party.
A minor note, but the knight can also offer you some modicum of protection against wasteland by activating in response. Also, he provides a shuffle effect for top, which is useful in colors that usually can't abuse its effect.
Red Wizard needs food badly!
Nacatl Hunt-Pride 5W
Creature - Cat Warrior
Vigilance
R, Tap: Target creature can't block Nacatl Hunt-Pride this turn.
G, Tap: Target creature must block Nacatl Hunt-Pride this turn if able.
5/4
--------
Rhox Mediant 3W
Creature - Rhino Monk
When Rhox Mediant comes into play, if you control a green permanent, you may draw a card.
2/4
--------
Kranioceros 4R
Creature - Beast
1W: Kranioceros get +0/+3 until end of turn.
5/2
---------
Wandering Goblins 2R
Creature - Goblin Warrior
Domain -3 : Wandering Goblins get +1/+0 until end of turn for each basic land type among lands you control.
0/3
----------
Toxic Iguanar R
Creature - Lizard
Toxic Iguanar has deathtouch as long as you control a green permanent.
1/1
that goblin is pretty disappointing, I was really hoping all the goblins werent going to be total crap.
I really like the Reliquary Knight. Having Terravore + Crop Rotation on one card seems pretty good. If there was a way to easily give him vigilance, he'd be extra juicy. I also think you'd want to play something like Exploration, and possibly Crucible in addition to Loam, to recoup the lands you're sacrificing. I think this guy is just what I needed for my janky Vinelasher Kudzu deck.
This guy and Esperzoa seem like the most playable cards in the set so far. Everything else I'm seeing is either hideously overcosted (Bolas, Conflux) or has annoying domain restrictions (the Ooze, everything 5-color).
Didn't see this mentioned...
Armillary Sphere![]()
Artifact
, T, Sacrifice Armillary Sphere: Search your library for up to two basic land cards, reveal those cards, and put them into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
Yet another card for Elder Dragon Highlander. Twice the effect of Wanderer's Twig for twice the cost, seems decent.
Just wondering is Master Transmuter http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attac...1&d=1232518584 and the card from Alara Windwright Mage the same one? http://sales.starcitygames.com//card...?product=53071
Same artist...?
He meant same character obv

It is the same artist, a one-name guy called, "chippy" (at least that's what it looks like on the scan) and they do look a lot alike.
But I don't know if that means they're the same chick or if it just means that guy has a limited range on drawing esper girls.
That knight has some seriously silly power toughness with any self mill effect at all. Dredge type things such as Loam seem a little better with him around.
I think I just like the idea of Wastelanding a person 4 times in a row more than anything else. That's just harsh.
Knight also doesnt die to an activation of relic, and refills the bin the turn after. He can also put those cycling lands you played to hit your land drops into the bin so they can be dredged/reused.
EDIT: (warning: serious danger of cool things) he also plays well with weathered wayfarer, possibly getting you TWO wastes in a turn while generating CA and royaly punishing your opponent.
Precisely. You sac a land, have one less land than an opponent while this is on the stack, search out a wasteland with Wayfarer, then the ability to search for a land with the Knight resolves.
Savage play actually.

Quenchable Fire 3R
Sorcery
Quenchable Fire deals 3 damage to target player. Unless that player pays U before the beginning of their next upkeep, Quenchable Fire deals an additional 3 damage to him or her.
Seems interesting. Though it's sorcery, can only hit players, and don't work very well agains't lots of decks. Like the idea that, if they're tapped out, they take 6.
Since they can untap before their next upkeep, I think they only take three even IF they're tapped out (with blue being the most common color by far).
georgjorgeGeistreich sind schon die anderen.
