So...Port, Unmask, Misdirection, and...? Squee has been reprinted, which puts a ceiling on his price. There's some EDH things like Bribery and Black Market.
Some marginal cards:
Clear the Land? Distorting Lens? Food Chain? Magistrate's Scepter? Spontaneous Generation? Trade Routes?
That's all I found.
i think dachmai was talking about more obscure rares.
Actually those are not so bad:
spiritual focus
clear the land (umh, this should be nuts in 43lands)

Heh, you're right Matt about there not being a lot, but the ones that are there continually raise up quickly.
Try buying a foil port right now. I wanted to throw up when I saw one sell for over $120. I still need 4 foils of that. Bribery is another that's raising up incredibly fast. EDH alone is doing that oddly enough. Mainly it's foils, but Unmask is starting to show it. Land Grants, Invigorate, Lin Sivvi, Port, Dust Bowl, list goes on. Dust Bowl is the most interesting of the bunch as it was only decent in standard and it's slowly gaining speed. I've been watching that one since it's a good EDH card. Unmask foils are really rare now.
I just pay attention to these obscure things since you turn around one day and you realize they are priced dumb for some reason. To this day I still laugh at Sol Ring since it's one of those cards that was always good, but was worth a buck at most for the longest time. These old cards from Masques to Onslaught are starting to turn that direction. I expect Invasion to start taking the hit soon also. Vindicate and Deed should start getting the hint of it first.
Where did you find a foil port selling for $120?? lol... D:
Damn, now I feel like a chump for selling my
playset at 160 just a couple of months ago.

Has anyone else noticed that Kira, Great Glass-spinner has been slowly selling out from online shops and eBay over the last couple of months?
Went to scope out prices on The Abyss for a weird UWB Jace deck I'm working on, and I find it strangely humorous that The Abyss, English, Near Mint, is about the same price as most other Legacy staples now, and books less than most of the top Standard Rares.
2 years ago i bought a foil grim monolith in mint condition on ebay for 5 dollars and was the winner of 2 bids. Now i laugh when i go on starcity games and see that the card is selling for 50 dollars ^_^
Spinal villain is starting to move finally. People are catching on. It's doubled price, though it was only 5 bucks to begin with.
Kira is a great EDH card and now Merfolk uses it too. Foils are really hard to get. I only own one beat up one.
@tacosnape - I think we can honestly say that standard is no longer cheaper than Legacy no matter how you look at it.
another card i think will raise, dunno how/when/why is Temporal aperture.
I mean, ancient tombs, grim monolith+ voltaic key, and even metalworker, plus the obvious eldrazi guys....it's only a matter of time of someone breaking it.
Dahcmai : just bought a couple spinal villains... :)

Foil Spell Pierces went from about $2.50 to $5.00 in recent weeks. It's still primarily a Vintage card, but is catching on in Legacy as well. I have a feeling it will go the way of Daze sooner or later.
merfolks currently play 2-4 SP between main/side.
is getting more and more played.
I don't think will ever reach 30$ each as daze though.

I just stopped by to mention that I have finally quit magic. I've been playing since revised and took a hiatus for about 1-2 years shortly after the Mercadian Masques cycle. Since I came back, I've been playing exclusively Legacy (and former type 1.5). I've had a lot of fun playing, reading up on all the decks (I lurked a lot), and watching the format grow to what it is today.
There are multiple reasons I'm quitting; the biggest is the price point of newer cards. Another factor was that I was spending too much time (1-3 hrs more-or-less daily) reading the forums and keeping up with the format (hopefully I'll use that time for more productive things, but it looks like I may just end up spending most of it playing HoN).
A year ago, I had enough cards to make about 75% of legacy decks, and keeping up with Legacy usually meant I only had to get sets of 1 or 2 cards from each new expansion. This cost around 10$-20$ per card (tarmogoyf not withstanding), now it seems that just to keep up I have to buy 2-4 sets per expansion that cost 20-50$ per card (and no, I'm not a poor college/high school student, I have a good job as a software developer). Legacy has finally reached a point for me where enjoyment < cost.
IMO the biggest reason for the dramatic price increase is the mythic rare rarity, any chase mythic rares go for ~2x of a regular rare; another factor (I think this is less significant) is the increased popularity of the Legacy format. The thing that really irritates me about the whole thing is that the price has been artificially inflated, I have less of a problem dropping 300(+) bones on some seas than on a (lot of) new mythic(s).
Now I don't believe for an instant that wizard is really concerned with one player, especially one who played fairly infrequently in the first place. I'm definitely in the minority as Legacy is thriving and doing well (the best shape it's ever been in?), but I have the feeling that I'm not the only one upset by the increased cost (ha! look at what thread I'm posting in. EDIT: Was originally gonna post this in the "Raise, raise, raise. The price of cardboard" thread). So this brings me to my question, what is your limit? How high can (Legacy) staples go before you decide it isn't worth it? (I don't think prices are still rising, this is just for the sake of discussion).
Anyway, I've decided to hold on to all my cards as I feel like most of them are going to continue to rise in price (unless neo-legacy happens), and because I'm way to lazy to put them on ebay and ship them out. Also, if prices drop it'd be nice to have the ability to get back into the game, but to be honest, it somehow feels good not playing anymore.
Good bye.
P.S. Check out the music group, The Glitch Mob. Edit: That didn't work, too tired to fix it. Fixed -Jander
I can hardly think of recent 4-ofs. Also, I've noticed how other non-mythic staples aren't all that expensive. DoJ, a 4-of in many decks in T2 is only 2.50, compared to the 10 dollars for WoG. Rare lands have also been more inexpensive lately.
I think hes talking about Vengevines and planeswalkers (the mythic rare creatures in general).
Besides, would you play with M11 or Scars of Mirrodin dual lands in this format?
