bwahahahaha, another "cheating" deck which can work fine even without show and tell. This deck looks even scarier than sneak and show! for just 3 mana can put whole army of emrakuls and company with haste into play, and people still complain about show and tell?
So, show and tell should be banned? or hypergenesis? or violent outburst?![]()
The deck won't survive, though not because of a potential ban on Show and Tell; it won't survive because it's a subpar deck. Like, this deck could have posted this exact same result during any odd tournament over the past year if people would have run it. The new 3 CMC cascade dude certainly makes the deck slightly better (as does Elton Brand), but nothing is fundamentally different.
@Drago- joemauer was trolling, and was doing a lazy job at that.
Joe Mauer was 1-3 with an RBI and a run in today's 6-3 Twins win over the Indians.

That's what you might think, because both combos pretty much put fatties into play, but cascading Hypergenesis is still the main combo (8 cascade spells + 2 Hypergenesis vs 4 Show and Tell).
Again, Hypergenesis with SnT isn't new (according to thecouncil it dates back to 2010). Griselbrand and the new cascade dude made this deck significantly better (some would say competitively playable), because you don't have to splash white (or use non-dual multicolor lands) for Ardent Plea and can just dig with "Pay 7 life".
8 for 8 Grisebrand decks in the top 8, time for mass bans. Oh wait, reality is nothing like that.

There was a strong showing for delver and Show and Tell decks(only decks to have multiples in the top eight). Tacosnape predicted the meta would start to revolve around those two decks, since delver decks can beat Show and Tell decks and hang with the rest of the decks in the format.
Top 16 Breakdown:
4 Delver (3 RUG, 1 UR)
2 Belcher
2 Maverick
Sneak and Show
MUD
UW Miracles
Hypergenesis
Dredge
Merfolk
BW
Reanimator
So 2 Show and Tell decks if you think hypergensis is not a unique deck, and 3 decks with Griselbrand (1 in in reanimator). Not quite sure if I would say the entire metagame "revolves around Show and Tell and Delver". Wish we had full data for all the decks entered, I would naively expect more Sneak and Show just based on expected popularity around the hype.
Looks like MUD beats Show and Tell and UW Control decks pretty handily. MUD has a strong RUG match-up as well. So instead of calling for the banhammer try under the radar decks maybe?
Merfolk who dafuq still plays that in a meta full of removal??? Kudos to them for making it to the T16 though, but wow.
That ... is kind of brilliant, I might have to look a bit closer at that list then. Chalice is so good right now.
HAHAHAHAHA! Thank you for pointing that out. That is hysterical and the meta seems fine.
