I've wanted to get a playmat altered by a number of original MTG artists. The main setting I want the playmat to have is the picture on time walk (Amy Weber) . I figured After she drew that I could get other artists to put their works somewhere along that setting. Ancestral Recall in the background, demonic tutor walking among the skeletons, Moxes could be handing from the tutor / skeletons. Put a blackouts on the ground growing. Put a yawgmoth running through the gate in the back of time walk.

Anyways Where i'm going with this is are these artists still around? I haven't seen Amy weber's name at any GP's or events to have an opportunity. Douglas Schuler seems like a hard one too. Maybe you have a suggestions for accomplishing this task of mine?
I know that Markers mentioned that Amy Weber doesn't sign cards any more, but I contacted her via facebook a few months ago and she seemed very nice and personable. I wasn't asking about autographs though. I was inquiring about magic art as well as checking into getting a piece of art done as a present and she seemed very willing to help me. You might want to think about treating the playmat like getting a commission done. I doubt it would be cheap, but I would think if you were really interested in it and didn't object to spending some money on it, you could make it happen.

Except for money cards like Tropical Island, Birds of Paradise, Basalt Monolith etc. because it would be detectable if they were originally Betas cut into Alphas (misprint/errors).
As an Alpha collector I've always been worried about that. Until recently, Alpha and Beta cards had similar prices, but we are starting to see noticeable differences in some cases, so I wonder if it's really difficult to cut Beta's corners.

EDIT: You'd be exposing "new" cardstock that hasn't been exposed for 20+ years compared to the other edges which have. There would be a colour difference. The newly cut corners, when viewed from the sides, would look fresher.

What if the card is in great condition, like near mint or even mint, would it be still possible to spot a fake Alpha corner?

the newly cut corner would not show the same aging as it hasn't been exposed to play / use / elements / air for 20 years....

I'm so close to finishing TES, but after yet another disappointing performance at GP DC, I'm shelving the deck for a while. Before I put it all away, I thought I should post the current state.

    Sweet storm list
Great looking deck! I am a fan of the T-Chinese Brainstorms. Wanting a set of those myself. Lately I've really been digging the blocky, non-brush stroke look.

Thanks! I had jap Brainstorms for a while, but I really think those characters look ugly. Much happier with the blocky chinese characters.

Thanks! I'm working on getting the rest of the cards in the RAV->NPH era in Russian, but they're hard to track down.

Here's some more recent(ish) pickups. Figured while I was by the scanner I might as well upload some pimp.

First, some stuff for Vintage Burning Long. Need to find that fourth Korean Oath...

After my sad performace at GP DC I am shelving my pet deck too (for a while)

I was in the process of completing the foiling of the deck, but since I need of break of the little green swarm, I'm sharing with you where I stopped the process.

I'm probably gonna go play something completely different (Werewolf Stompy maybe?)

Thanks MED! I'd love to get my mat signed by you eventually!

IBA was nice enough to hand-deliver it to me on Day 1 of the GP!
I just love Unlimited Duals. Don't ask me why. I know during grinders one of the guy kinda freaked out since over 70% of the deck is foiled and he never saw those Visionaries before.

I always enjoy a foil crop rotation, a cool oldframe foil, has to be played more imo :D
but since you prefer foil, why no JR natural orders?

@ tes; brainstorms looking nice, havent seen a rus ponder yet, got a new fav nonfoil version now ;)

My friend found this among his things, went "What are these worth? Like 10, 20 bucks?"

He immediately asked me if I wanted to buy it once he heard the price haha.

I was going to post it when I got it back on Sunday from the friend that got it signed for me. But he sent me pics, so here ya go!

The Belchers and Goliath are signed by Ben (@DSuperstition).

I'm more excited about getting these back than I am about the Eric Deschamps cards he got signed for me.

And thanks for signing it! I figured I needed to get one signed by you since your Plague Spitter playmat post gave me the idea to add one to my Aluren sideboard and helped me kill Greg's Delvers. :D
