I guess the Miracle vs. Infect matchup is nearly unwinnable for Miracles. Especially if the Infect guy draws all his creatures one ofter the other.

To be fair Philipp's draw wasn't shabby at all (sure, sitting on 3 lands in Game 2 is bad, but that also had to do with Top'ing for answers).

I actually don't think it's that bad (as a Miracles player myself). But 3 Nexus... wow.

? BBD vs. Royce is the other semifinal, and it's being shown live.

This match is for the other spot in the finals. Finals will be after this.

This will be both an economically feasible AND sensible move.

Maybe I am totally wrong, but did BBD just play 2 Strands in one turn?

(It's 1 am here and I might missed some turns. Please excuse)

Royce debated his opener before keeping it and Dan went down to six cards for Game 2. Royce led off with a Dark Ritual into a Cabal Ritual then resolved a Lion’s Eye Diamond. Royce cracked for red while maintaining Priority for Infernal Tutor, getting a Cabal Ritual and proceeded to flash back Past in Flames. From there Royce played all three rituals again to play Infernal Tutor and hit Dan with a lethal Tendrils of Agony for the Turn 1 kill.

Would have been nice to see Tom get this slow of a start against Philipp.

Yep. But still, I'm not sure if that Crop play was a mistake; my plan would have been to force BBD to have the Force+Blue+Blast, althouhg I'm not at the GP, so make of that what you will.

    Re: GP New Jersey

Just got back from GP, I scrubbed it pretty hard. Started off well with 3-0 then punted a game that I had due to math miscalculations and started on a tilt, lost rounds 6 and 7 to finally get eliminated from contention, friends were still in so i stuck it out for points and said as soon as they were good to go to just find me and i'll drop, won round 8, they were out and found me during round 9 eventually and mid match i just sign the slip giving my opponent the win. The trip down was an odyssey for me anyway so I was done for the main event to care about grinding PWPs.

Hardly played delver or stoneblade at all, which made the event a learning experience playing matchups I had never seen. While having a very strong legacy pool that i can play almost any fair blue based deck, I also have little experience playing with or against non-blue decks. Also my metagaming caused me to board a lot more hate against those matchups and didn't run into any of them so sideboards were very awkward during the weekend. It also meant a lot of my matches were a bit more random.

Might be a bit off but I recall playing: Death & Taxes, Oops! All Spells, Junk Depths, Miracles, UR Delver once, Jeskai Stoneblade once, Merfolk, Belcher, Punishing Loam, Painter, and MUD. First time i played all of these decks in tournament except for Delver to be honest, so it was definitely a learning experience in most games.

I did have a lot of fun getting wrecked by Imperial Painter in the Super Sunday Series. The second game was incredibly grindy but watching it go off and all the decision trees alone made it worth getting 2-0'd in a totally deserved way. Hopefully you did well today man.
