Here is the tournament report. I would have put it here, but wanted others to see it regarding the Alix Hatfield DQ

    BUG Delver(would -1teeg only)
    1x Decay

    ANT(-2 Loam -1 Maze -3 Decay -2PFire -2 Sylvan Lib)
    1x Thalia
    2x Canonist
    1x Revoker
    3x Thoughtseize
3x Something to attack grave(Usually Leylines but you can change it if you prefer)

    UWR Stoneblade(-1 Ooze -1 Loam -1Karakas -1/2 Mox)
    1x Pulse
    1x Decay
    1x Revoker(or Arlinn :) )
    1x Choke
    1x Garruk Relentless
    1x Reclamation Sage

    Just a rough normal sideboard.

If you really just want to sideboard against those 3 decks I would actually fit 1x Decay, 1x Choke, 1x Planeswalker 1x Pulse and 11 Cards vs Combo.
Since the BUG Delver and UWR Stone blade are good matchups you can even go full crazy and fit
    2 U/x Lands
    3 Meddling Mage
    2 Canonist
    1 Thalia
    3 Thoughtseize

Thank you for your input. I have settled for:
    3 Leyline
    3 Thoughtseize
    2 Cannonist
    1 Revoker
    1 Thalia
    1 RecSage
    1 Garruk R
    1 Choke
    1 Decay
    1 McPulse

This fifteen does feel closest to home.
Will replace 1 Thoughtseize for Arlinn if she decides to join the party in time. #mailorderbride

Congrats on the finish! I hope Belcher wasn't your top 8 opponent, only seems winnable if you were on the play and had the right hand

My loss in the swiss was to the same person in top 8, he was playing grixis delver. He also won the tournament. I played terrible in the swiss against him, but in the top 8 he seemed to have very good hands, I remember game 2 he had fow for my turn 1 chalice, and the turn before I died, I believe he had another 2 force of will's before killing me with gurmag angler. The match isn't easy. The problem I have had with this deck is losing to GOOD delver pilots, anyone else?

Congrats! I was having some Grixis problems with a very similar starting 60, but since dedicating extra sideboard space to creature matchups I've found that it gets significantly easier. The best advice I have is to cut the Chokes for two pieces of spot removal. It doesn't particularly matter what they are, but I've had success with Tabernacle, Maze of Ith, Dismember, and Kolaghan's Command. There are upsides and downsides to all of them, so the real issue seems to be having a critical mass of interaction.

Congrats on your finish! How did you sideboard? I don't feel it is a bad matchup at all. If he does FOW your turn 1 chalice that is great! That means better stuff can hit the table, bob, liliana, knight. They literally can't beat a 4/4 knight unless they use double bolt or bolt+combat. You have 4 uncounterable answers to 12 of their creatures and 3 recurring answers to the same 12. Grove plus p.fire is lights out on the critters. Angler is the only concern and it can be dealt with by a large knight or lili. Also if you have dryad and loam you can have an infinite blocker until you dredge cycle lands to get card advantage.

    In 2 charm, 1 deluge

Out 1 teeg, 1 barren moore, 1 mox

He had fow for my chalice, bolt for my Bob, waited a turn to try to get a fourth mana source but he was playing threats, so got my knight dazed or Liliana(can't remember) got punishing fire going and cleared the board except for anglar. He had 2 more forces for me trying to get a creature out to give myself more time. Let's just say he drew all action.

    Sometimes they have it all.

But you should not be boarding out Mox against a tempo deck. Mox gets boarded out almost exclusively against decks that want to play the long game.

Slaughter Games isn't really doing anything for you, and would be better as a maelstrom pulse. The board in general looks ready to fight omni.

I also have been beat up by grixis in testing.

Was playing a list with 4 Deathrite, 4 Delver, 3 Pyromancer, 2 Angler, 1 TNN.

The thing is the variety of angles they attack, your answers for a Delver are different than against an Angler. And I don't think we can beat YP+TNN pre board, since we can't make them sacrifice..... Maybe race is the way?

Makes sense not to board out mox but on the play I felt it was fine, maybe I'm wrong. I have noticed that spot removal may be better and 1 pulse would be good for 1 choke. Slaughtered games has been a card I like vs storm as well, I really like it in the show and tell matchup and have had good results with it against miracles(even though it's already a good match).

I just think anglar is the biggest problem. I'm going to try one pulse for 1 choke in the sideboard.

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

So the deck has a bit of a problem fighting non-meta threats. Mainly large creatures. That is where most of the strength of Angler and the Eldrazi deck comes from. 1 Deluge seems too low in this meta.

It also happens to be good enough against any plan that Grixis delver might be on, meaning that it is a good answer to Young Pyro and TNN and a decent answer to everything else.

I'm currently playing 2 and loving it.

The local Grixis Delver guy refuses to test against me anymore, tho I don't think the matchup is as bad for him as he does.

If you're mostly concerned with Angler and Eldrazi, I can't recommend the SB Maze enough.

I like the idea of Tabernacle SB. Has anyone tested this before?

    Re: [Deck] Aggro Loam

Tabernacle is a very medium card in the deck. What matchups do you want it for?

We have on average 1-2 creatures on a developed board. For a "fair" use of tabernacle we need to deny them more mana than it denies us.
With 2 creatures on board, Tabernacle is costing us 3 mana, so what are the decks that consistently have more than 3 creatures on the board?

That's Elves, Pyro decks, TES, ANT, and fringier things like Affinity and Goblins.

I'd say that the only place where Tabernacle is better than Golgari charm/Toxic Deluge/Pyroclasm is Elves because of the consistency with which they reload the board. Besides the obvious tutorability.

Seems very good vs Eldrazi, who often are "paying" for their creatures through Eye of Ugin, thats what I had in mind. Also does not allow them to overload the board.

It is good against hands with Mimics and such, but they are fine tapping an ancient tomb every turn to keep Smasher and TKS alive. Their strongest plays against us involve casting those cards. If all they play are pfire/decayables then we shouldn't have a problem beating them either way.
