I don't know about that, what's that an average of 10 counters a turn so 10 turns...I had somebody tell me to run the Hex/Ddepths combo but that seems weak also. I'm happy with the avenger, though I don't like relying on creatures. I was giving thought to running Sword of Feast/Famine instead of avenger, equip to creeping tar pit swing, untap all lands, Main 2 redo shananigans. Haven't playtested that yet though.
Did you ask me if that spell could resolve?????

No, you ditch Tabernacle at their EoT to Zuran orb, then recur it on your turn after you attack. As for the bridge you can build your hand to 3/4 easy and allow plants to swing in, or EE the bridge all together and swing in then play a glacial chasm. Avenger is good for the deck

I still believe the best finisher for this deck is Worm Harvest. It seals the deal in 2-3 turns max and is unaffected by counters and by spot removal (also, is not a affected by bridge). It interacts badly with Tabernacle, but you have ways to go around that (wasting it eot and replaying it). Another advantatge is that you don't have to recur it with Volrath so, you don't have to wait a turno to play it.

It is graveyard dependant, ok, but every finisher in this deck is in some way.

I played WH with good results. Tabernacle is a samall issue. But now i'm testing Oblivion stone in that slot, just for test. Thoguths?

    Smokestack + Manlands isn't.

I'm starting to be of the opinion that you need to tailor Lands to how you play. Smokestack and 2 Manabonds fits my play style, while others may find Worm Harvest fits the bill better. I don't like turning things sideways.

Helix Pinnacle is definitely thinking outside the box. I vote for Worm Harvest, too, but if you're looking for something that doesn't attack, there aren't a whole lot of other good win cons. Barbarian Ring isn't much faster than Helix Pinnacle unless you have Exploration(s) and Crucible.

    Not to mention Cursed Scroll...

Yeah, I have one of them set aside to test. It seems slightly slow, but versatile and can win without the graveyard.

I really think Mindslaver might be the best for that particular matchup, unfortunately.

In other news, I'm 7000 words into a primer for this deck, so if anyone wants a preview post / message me. It's geared more towards E-Tutor than Intuition builds.

    Re: [Deck] 43 Lands

Cursed scroll is almost the same as barbarian ring except worse since it costs 3 to activate and you have to have a card in hand. It seems awful and now every list doesn't even run barbarian ring because using barbarian as a win con is just a huge joke move IMO and others seem to think so as well since no one runs barbarian ring anymore. Hell, cursed scroll can only be activated once a turn while barbarian ring can be activated multiple times each turn (sometimes if the conditions are right) making cursed scroll almost strictly worse than barbarian ring.

I like the helix pinnacle suggestion just for the lulz. At least it has shroud but EE still gets it.

Also mchainmail I agree with your philosophy on this deck. And your build is nice too I concede entomb is awesome as is e. tutor. While intuition is somewhat slow and manabond is meh. Postboard manabond is also pretty bad. And enlightened tutor is nice for toolboxing; get manabond, exploration, seal of primordium, ensnaring bridge, EE...the options are limitless. And creeping tar pit > celestial colonnade.

I do not understand why people would not run Barbarian Ring. As a win-con, it is definitely subpar, but I use my Barbarian Ring very often to control any annoying little dudes.

    +1

On cursed scroll: it's bit slow but as said above it can win without the yard! Eats magus of the moon and once it's on line means 2 damage every turn without wasting loam on it. Off course having a card in hand ios not a problem!

So basically Cabal Pit but in worse colors?

What do you typically kill with it?

Well, I've had great success with the Avenger. Before Avenger a combination of creeping tar pit and Barb ring usually put them on a 4 turn clock, assuming they hadn't fetched. Now as soon as I land an Avenger they tend to scoop. My current list is as Follows:

    Maindeck:
    4x Life from the Loam
    4x Manabond
    4x Exploration
    4x Mox Diamond
    3x Intuition
    1x Engineered Explosives
    1x Zuran Orb
    1x Ensaring Bridge
    1x Avenger of Zendikar
    4x Wasteland
    4x Maze of ith
    4x Rishadan port
    3x Tolaria West
    3x Tranquil Thicket
    3x Tropical Island
    1x Taiga
    1x Bayou
    1x Forest
    1x Verdant Catacombs
    1x Windswept Heath
    1x Wooded Foothills
    1x Misty Rainforest
1x The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
    1x Horizon Canopy
    1x Volrath's Stronghold
    1x Academy Ruins
    1x Creeping Tar Pit
    1x Barbarian Ring
    1x Mishra's Factory
    1x Karakas
    1x Glacial Chasm

    Sideboard:
    1x Tormod's Crypt
    1x Crucible of Worlds
    1x Pithing Needle
    3x Dark Confidant
    3x Krosan Grip
    3x Chalice of the Void
    1x Nev's Disk
    2x Null Rod

Also, I dissagree with the cabal pit but in worse colors. Barb ring can shoot players, and keep planeswalkers from getting dangerous. :). I typically use it to kill of Kira or Gadduk. On kira I target with Karakas first then just shoot her. I dont waste time bouncing Gadduk, I just kill him. Saves me the effort of having to put up with him later.

It works when I see them, but to tell you the truth it works pretty well even when I don't. That's what I like about this deck, it preforms the same function each game consistantly but has many different ways to achieve each of those functions.

I think it's Eternal Garden not lands. (At least in Europe it's called that way)
