Amazing! So in the future I don't take a binder with me for trading but a sledgehammer for all the people trying to scam me. Good news!

If that's the case I'm not too worried about people who purchase them for their personal use and risk getting game losses due to deck checks. As long as I can trade and purchase in confidence and the flood of counterfeits doesn't crash the market I'm fine with it.
Oh and my guess is, the rightmost Lackey is a fake. I'm not too sure about the leftmost Piledriver. I've seen so much color difference on older cards, it's hard to judge.

The fakes are also supposed to not pass the blacklight test, but confirmation about it from prateta would be nice.
Also, how do they compare to real cards in terms of feeling, thickness, etc.?
They feel the same. Especially sleeved. Bend test passed, although barely. Wouldn't pass 3 or more bend tests I think. I will make a short review in upcoming days, I have some exams now, so no time. Mayba after weekend. Black light, bend, water, everything.
So, because no one officially exists to officially say it is the same, it isn't the same? It sure seems like an equivalent practice.
A security is "any tradable financial asset". There are websites with stock market-like tickers showing the change in card prices. People submit cards to speculation and their prices fluctuate accordingly. There may not be an official-sounding person or entity claiming it to be so, but it sure as hell walks like a duck.
All those goblins look legit to me tbh, though I'm far from an expert when it comes to detecting fakes.
It's hard to tell which of the Goblins are fakes, if any. I just hope that after you've wasted not only money on those fakes, but also lots of your spare time to thoroughly test them, dontbiteitholmes shows up and sends you the 28 USD.
Thanks for all the info.
Any way we could get a better photo? The left side of the photo is blurry, the light reflecting obscures things and it's overall not very clear.
Sorry for the photo quality, will make better pictures when there is some daylight to work with.

Sorry, but what is this "Godbook" that SCG supposedly has?
Wizards say "as you all know..." in their article. Frankly I didn't know until...

I put it to old KMC sleeves on purpose of simulating the real tournamenr conditions, yeah :-) quick summary: they are not good enough to be trades in person as originals, but they are good enough to be played in sleeves (especially used sleeves). I will upload as many photos as possible, just please wait untill I have proper conditions to take these photos.

Basically an advanced spoiler for pending sets.
If it is true that they receive them, it puts them in a superior position to know about chase cards and/or generate buzz around said cards. It also means they can predict demand for older supplemental cards and change their price point as well.
Godbooks are also allegedly given to top players in advance to prep them for new tech.
Allegedly.
Higgs,
Why, yes, I have read the article, now for the second time. My liberal application of the word allegedly is not from a lack of understanding the applications of a Godbook; rather, it is more in the interest in practicing Ye Olde CYA.
Knowing that individuals who represent Star City Games and other card retailers are active members of this forum, the last thing I should want to do is make a blanket statement regarding what I suspect their practices are. I'm kind of a suspicious fruit-bat, and I know it, so at present I'd prefer to try and maintain a level of potential ambiguity. I'll be the first person to say that I know little about econ, not much about the legal system, and just in general I tend to operate on impulse when I see a situation that has variables I'm not particularly good at parsing.
To that end, while I strongly suspect that store owners are engaged in the practice of predicting the value of cards which have been and/or will be printed in the future via the use of Godbooks, I cannot personally attest to that practice. I can only accuse; I cannot substantiate.
So, allegedly -- Godbooks are used to respond to demand before the demand exists. If it were true, I believe it's about as morally defensible as creating demand for antivirus software by writing your own viruses (cough McAfee cough, allegedly cough hack wheeze). But what the fuck do I actually know about any of that; I'm just another Google-all-the-things armchair-expert schmuck. Allegedly.
I believe the left most Goblin Piledriver and Goblin Lackey are the fakes based on the color of the space between the black border and the red card frame.
