Welp, looks like I'm buying this Commander set after all.
I think, by the time you're able to land this guy and give him double strike and connect on the opponent, it's kind of a moot point.
But, yes, I believe it would have Cascade, Cascade, like Maelstrom Wanderer does. Cards can gain multiple instances of an ability. Usually that's a moot point, like Flying, Flying. Not so with Cascade.
I don't think Magus of the Will is maindeckable in any deck that really wants a YawgWill effect, but out of the board, it could be a beating. Way more than Xantid Swarm, it forces you to consider leaving your removal in, which thins out your combo hate. I could also see decks like Reanimator taking a look at it and also making an appearance in a Living Wish board. Cool card.
Now where's my Magus of the Balance???
Incoming, I'm sure. In the meantime, they made Magus of the Disk, that's kinda close...
Shallow Grave came to mind as a way to mitigate some of those issues.
Well, you've got Wheel of Fortune now, plus Yawgmoth's Will, so I'm sure they'll get to it.
I wonder what the Blue one will be. My first thought it Windfall but Jace's Archivist already exists. Can't be Tinker, can it?
And what about the Green one? First Sorcery that comes to mind is Natural Order.

Summoning sickness is a huge deal, yes, but Legacy doesn't have access to Will otherwise. The power of that effect cannot possibly be overstated. If you manage to untap with this guy, you pretty much win the game. In a format where Lions Eye Diamond is unrestricted, things get really nutty really fast...
Except Shallow Grave + activating Magus still costs 5 mana, requires a setup of getting Magus into the yard and finding the Shallow grave. Might as well just play Past in Flames.
Not that there aren't possibilities for Magus, I just don't feel this is one of them. I think the delay is just going to have to be part of the plan. PiF kills sometimes take a turn to setup anyway. This takes away the flexibility of being able to win on the spot with PiF, in exchange for an easier time setting up the kill, provided Magus lives to see tomorrow.
Sorry, I wasn't clear, these Magi are definitely a cycle, just only one per Commander set, per year.
So, Commander 2017 will almost surely have either the White, Blue or Green one.
Regrowth is definitely possible, but would be really underwhelming, visa vis Eternal Witness.

Except Natural Order is a 'fair' card.
It'd have to be something like Magus of the Channel.
Magus of the Balance would be an obvious choice for White, but Restore Balance was already printed...
White is noticeably shortchanged on the Vintage Banned/Restricted list.
I guess they'll have to go with Magus of the Shahrazad.![]()
Magi of the Tinker, Channel and Balance would be plenty splashy. I don't think having Restore Balance is that big a deal. They already had Wheel of Fate too.
Bant Channel Thopter Sword would probably play all three of these too haha

Wacky. Another avenue (that is no doubt bad) would be something like Faithless Looting, Anger and Unearth. The advantage here is that you can replay cards like Lotus Petal or LED as opposed to using Past in Flames.

Right, I'm almost certain I want to test this card in some version of the BR reanimator deck too. I actually think it can find a home. Compare Jace Vryn's Prodigy which suffers from many of the same issues but still sees niche play.
It is really amazing how much more powerful YawgWill is than Wheel of Fortune. I had no good ideas for Magus of the Wheel but this is a totally different story.
