the only problem with Collar is Chalice
Both are great against the same decks and you surely prefer Chalice over Collar anytime
I, too, played a long drawn out game against the mirror, and would've loved to have an Ulamog to fetch for with Eye. Also, the Displacer versions are tough mirrors.
I have moved from Endbringers totally now. (I play the W splash so I got more outs to Emmy and Griselbees) Going for the full 4 Oblivion Sowers in my 75 with a 2-2 split MB / SB. Sowers are stellar in the slower matchups like Nic Fit, Lands, Miracles and Loam strategies. Exiling their win cons with Sower, no doubt quite RNG here, just flat out obliterates these decks' endgames.![]()
Noloam and I have been talking about adding in an Ulamog, we were actually discussing how low impact the ratchet bombs in the board were. We primarily wanted them for the bigger decks (Shardless, Miracles, Mirror, Enchantress among others) and against the Show and tell decks as tech to hit it. Anyone else have these thoughts?
I've never had Ratchet Bomb over perform. O Sow on the other hand has proven very good.
Not sure I'm sold on Ulamog - I've had a tough time activating Eye of Ugin at times.
I have tried O Sower lists and I don't understand why you would play it over Endbringer.
Endb. is card advantage vigilance attacker and, in case, hatebear pinger. With Dismember it kills up to 6 thoughtness creatures and with S.Contortion up to 4thoughtness.
On the other hand Sower has that huge thoughtness (but wasn't 6 enough already?) and the ability to steal 1 or 2 fetchlands from the opponent (often impossibile to utillize unless you run the playset of Urborg, ToY.
It's stellar in the mirror though, but the mirror is just a run to get Ulamog and to get there Conduit of Ruin is just better...
sower can survive dismember
darkness conviced me about the ulamog.
my current sideboard is:
1 needle
1 karakas
2 AID
1 ulamog
2 confusion in the ranks
4 leyline of the void
4 Thorn of amethyst
