I actually started a while back writing an arrival on the reasons that Shop needed to stay banned and stopped it because I thought it would be blazingly obvious why it's unsafe.

Also, Vintage and Legacy are not 99% the same. The cards that are legal in the do not denote comparison. It's like saying Modern and Legacy are legal because they share a card pool without examination of each format.

Besides, Modern isn't exactly cheap. Has anyone looked at the price of Snapcaster Mage and Blood Moon lately??

Though allot of the expensive Modern staples are also Legacy cards (from the 15 most expensive cards in modern Goyf, Snapcaster, Lilliana, Scalding Tarn, Grove of the Burnwillows, Clique, Cavern of Souls, Blood Moon, SoF&I, Bob and Verdant Catacombs all see some level of play in Legacy)so buying down is not that expensive for some decks, but it can still be a fair bit of coin. Iit is worse today then 6 months ago, and worse still then 2 years ago. but so is Legacy.

T1 : Shop > 3Sphere
T2: Crucible, Wasteland
Does anyone really need more then that?

Shop, Bazaar, Power, Minds Desire, Oath. These are all cards that should never be safe in Legacy, for obvious reasons. Though I would love to see Desire unbanned, as desireing into Desire would just be to fun to me.

I would pick up storm in an instant if that card was unbanned, I've tried it in MTGO and that shit is bonkers.

On a side note. Jeff Hoogland, I hope that you shed a tear every time that you hear about Niklas Kronberger destroying people with Aggro Loam, since you feel as though you can't win in Legacy without brainstorm. Have fun playing formats with severely restricted card pools. "They hate us cause you ain't us"

One might find it hard to avoid having crap draws when you don't run 12 cantrips with 10 fetchlands. As soon as it happens like twice out of 18 rounds (counting playoffs) you're out of a GP. Odds for nonblue decks are inherently not great, the fact that two Loam decks managed to go so far proves how damn good those decks are, both in isolation and in countering the meta.

Bottomline of that statement is, 1600 losers at GP Lille and the only deck we should play is Mentor Miracles since it became first.
