I think those are Revised, however I thoroughly enjoy Unlimited Dual Lands as well as Unlimited Power and staples (i.e. Demonic Tutor). I personally find clean MINT Unlimited Power, Dual Lands, and staples a hell of a lot more "pimp" than 85% of the Beta Power, Dual Lands that look like total fucking shit and are posted in "pimp" threads across multiple forums.

Seriously take care of your cards people and stop wasting money on EX Beta I don't want to see that garbage. Guess I'm the only stickler.

Own/ed plenty. I use double sleeves and enjoy my cards being in NM/M condition. It really isn't that hard to keep your items nice while playing with them. You sound mad?

Exactly... If it isn't mint pristine, I don't want it... Thats why I use WB(and fetching), also I haven't found any minty beta duals, so I think the next step is to have them altered, don't know if I'll have the forces altered cause they're mint and I think that in itself is pimp.

The Factories I prefer in foil, and I don't use my German duals because the whole deck is english... It's kinda a theme. Also, I like the FNM brainstorms cause the halo thing is foily, but masques ones are harder to come by so cooler to some, I had the chance to get them, but it came down to preference.

A guy had a large number of these lands, and they hadn't been seen anywhere else yet, while the large concentration makes it almost statistically impossible for them to have been erroneously distributed via the guru scheme. Most other test prints or summer were mostly distributed legitimately to employees or accidentally released (even though there are some that were illegitimately obtained), which is why most rarities collectors have no problems dealing with them. Not getting on a moral high horse, just stating a point.

Look at the island again. This is not one of the stolen guru's with no stamp. It is mis-stamped. Also on the subject of the test print islands, sure they might be rarer, but they aren't legal.

Yeah. They're basically part of a couple of sheets that got sent in upside down when the symbols were printed, hence the symbols would be in the right place if the cards were sent in the right way. I missed it the first time I looked at it.

In any case, no misprint guru land, upside down stamp or no stamp, is likely to be worth more than a manabase playing 1-2 sets of blue duals + fetches.

I got these mis-stamped islands a long time ago. They are worth about $250-300 though so that is definitely enough to contend with most legacy manabases.

I also remember seeing a bunch of test prints at NYC worlds for much cheaper than they sell for nowadays, but had no interest in them because they're not legal and because there were a number of summer duals in the room. At that point in time I really wanted to get a summer USEA for whatever reason. In the end I settled for an alpha lotus and some beta seas. I actually want to get some summer duals atm, but between all the random things I've been winning on ebay and the ridiculous cost of a new car and the insurance that goes with it I can't seem to save up enough.

Depends on which test prints you saw, as not all test editions were created equal. Test prints would follow summer in general, inflating in price over time. It honestly is ironic that the most expensive test prints are all not legal -- only textless bargains would be playable and crack the top 3 in my opinion. A summer sea in at least EX+ condition would comfortably exceed 3k. I'm practically in the same boat as you, in that I've stopped going after summer for a few months while buying test prints. I'm considering picking up at least half a textless saga set after my current acquisitions, so that's summer pushed back for a while more.

No really easy way to answer that. The Birds were from a private source. Very little of the stuff I pick up comes from eBay. There were some other similar prints from Jud on eBay, although none are nearly as high as birds or wrath.

That's right. Ended after Mirrodin. There isn't any real point in printing in traditional chinese as it makes life harder for non-mainland chinese speakers/readers and really caters to a market that is too niche and small to be worthwhile.

My point, who cares.. the guys deck is pretty damn cool looking, and the forces are pretty damn unique... but at the end of the day, he's the biggest (what people outside of this site would say) loser for spending so much money on worthless cardboard...

As for people going on about the Dreadstill deck... may I remind you, people have (in spite of the fact that this is a Legacy pimp deck thread) posted pictures of full Beta P9 and the thread didn't end there. There's still life after peaks of hotness. :cool:

On the beta p9, it is much less impressive than the dreadstill deck. I mean you would probably need to post very nice alpha power to even come close. Those altered forces alone are much rarer and more expensive than most pieces of power anyway.

Not exactly. Any value placed on altered art cards is kind of speculative, whereas Beta power have buttloads of quantitative values to support them. Personally, I'd never pay much more than the value of a regular card for its altered variant.

Blah... almost unusable unless your in a huge city, you'll maybe get one sanctioned event in a year if you are lucky... cards are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, just because you are willing to spend X amount of cash on Y card, does not mean that is how much it is worth, its how much you paid for it... try to flip that bitch, bet you wont get the money... just on ebay for instance, there are auctions for jap foil delta's for $450 a piece, and they have been there for a year at least, unsold

It's possible to get alterations just by mailing the cards to the artists. And even if you go to the events they're gonna need more than a day to work on your alteration if you want sthg like the Dreadstill's FoW (if you want a brief sketch like the one on the Tin Street Hooligans it should not take more than 5 minutes though).
If I remember correctly, last time the Worlds were in Paris, Terese Nielsen charged €150 for a single alteration.

actually I have a playset of damaged FOW (they got damp and stuck together I traded for them while they was still stuck) I contacted Nielsen about altering them and she wanted $100 each card plus insured priority shipping fees. I sent cards to Amy Weber to be signed and got alters (High Tides But I traded them for some duals last year) on them at no cost just depends on the artist.

I never understand why people on this thread act like this. Skipping a scan of one card takes you all of a second, shorter than the time you take to type out a post criticising the scan. I like looking at cards, especially when they mean something to the owner. Don't like it? Skip it or one-up it.

The thing is I still find something like alpha duals much more impressive than a completely foil English deck not only because they are more expensive, but because they are much rares and harder to come by.

A lot of people on here think its all about quantity not quality and that everything posted should be appreciated, but that is really just a load of BS. I mean irl would you be more impressed by a guy who owns a Lambo or a guy who owns 8 toyota's?

So it's my opinion that even though an all foil deck in english might look nice I would rather see jap foil/alpha/summer/misprints/signed/altered cards as if I wanted I could foil out any legacy deck in english within a week while putting together a deck like the dreadstill deck comeback posted would take ages and I not only enjoy seeing cool/rare/expensive cards, but appreciate the effort it takes to put the deck together.

What Matrons are you using? EvG? Sucks that the only foils are the 7th edition ones that are hideous and mad expensive. The EvG/Portal 2 art is the most badass imo, but I like the layout of the Urza's Saga ones best, and most of my Gobs list is old boarders.

If I ever get ambitious in terms of pimping Goblins out, I'd probably try to do the whole deck Japanese. I think everything is available in that language, is there some website that lists all the language printings for each set?

What Matrons are you using? EvG? Sucks that the only foils are the 7th edition ones that are hideous and mad expensive. The EvG/Portal 2 art is the most badass imo, but I like the layout of the Urza's Saga ones best, and most of my Gobs list is old boarders.

If I ever get ambitious in terms of pimping Goblins out, I'd probably try to do the whole deck Japanese. I think everything is available in that language, is there some website that lists all the language printings for each set?

Supras are pure dyno queens and drag cars. Very few of those built Supras are capable of actually putting their 1100whp (or whatever their cranked psi is at) to the ground.

As much as I hate the new exotics cause they all look and perform nearly identical, an LP640 is a fucking masterpiece and would tear the Supra a new ass on any road course. A 800+HP Supra may take it in a straight line, assuming it actually hooks up but certainly not in top speed.

But honestly, there is no reason in comparing a 35k Supra TT with another 100K dumped into the drivetrain to make it fast to a 325k Lamborghini, they are completely different animals. Some people want a sexy fast supercar that does everything and has a heavenly V12 motor that makes angelic noises and some want a boy racer from Fast and the Furious that looks like a cheap imitation of the Italian cars and has dual-angled cans coming out the back and sounds like an angry vaccuum cleaner. To each their own I guess.

Hmmm .... you just proved my point. But I learned a long time ago talking cars with fanboys is never a good thing. Everyone has their own niche that they find and research and when you look hard enough to find something you eventually do. Clearly that Supra has had shit tons of money dumped into it to make it that fast, the stock Supra TTs will pull on a completely stock Camaro SS but barely .. who really cares though. A fast car is a fast car.

So, as promised earlier in the thread, here is a scan of a test print that (to my knowledge) has never been posted publicly before. To boot, I've asked around, and this print (as well as the rest of its brethen that I have access to) seems to be the only one of its kind. To put things into perspective, there are probably a couple hundred of Exodus test prints (each) running around and a BB foil Sotf/CoT from there is worth more than a grand. Foil 8e proofs have 2-3 copies of each running around, and the cheapest of those (for a crappy common) is going for 800 now.

The test foil EE above (regardless of whether it is actually turns out to be the only test print EE kicking around) was created to test certain aesthetics, as can be seen from the scan. I'll upload another (larger, better) scan with a normal foil EE beside it for contrast later. From an objective point of view, the most expensive other test prints are the 8e foil painlands and the textless Bargain, and the EE is easily at least in that ballpark. Same playing area as Splendid Genesis (higher than Fraternal) and certain blue summer duals. Some members (Yawg07?) here know about fifth dawn prints as well, and probably can vouch that they are 100% legit and exist.

In any case, the EE may be English (read non-jap) and not legal, but it is still a great collector's item, has a hefty price tag to go with it, and part of the game's history attached to it as well. I enjoy owning it, and I hope everyone enjoys seeing a new test print as well. This is the only place I'll be posting this at for at least a couple months :)

On a side note, I picked up another foil test print with the EE, but no other test print deserves to share the latter's spotlight. I'm going for a playset of the former, and will post the playset then. They are BB, legal for play, and no stax/chalice stompy deck can be fully maxed out without them. Till next time.

There aren't test print chalices. I'm hoping against hope that a test print Crucible will emerge, but the chances of that are almost zero.

The majority of EX prints have probably skewed the perception of them. As far as I know (and someone, please correct me if I am wrong), cards need to have normal backs (which rules out certain test prints with white backs) and black / white borders to be legal. Most EX prints, like the ones Slinga posted, are silver-bordered, making them illegal by default. The BB ones I have and have seen are exactly like normal foil cards, and even have the shooting star to boot. There really isn't any reason for them to be illegal, although I guess it's up to the judges' discretion. Textless test prints with round corners are legal as far as I know too.

That's just a watermark. It isn't on the card. I placed it there as some of my previous images were being used elsewhere and I wanted to make sure no one was offering to sell a card with my scan.

Yeah basically the prints were created to test the sunburst foiling. It's difficult to view it from the scan, but it's obvious next to a normal foil EE or when you view it in person.

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna actually bust out a stompy deck with 4 of those in it though. Any shuffle damage would be ... ... expensive.

Yeah, I've seen Vedalken Shackles like this and on something else, but I can't remember what the other was now.
I HATE 'crazy foil', but crazy foil on something it isn't "supposed" to be on? Now that's cool.

EDIT: Yeah I always wanted 4 white-box, BB, City of Traitors for Stax. Never even found one.

There are a few more that I've seen. Crucible wasn't one of them, though. I would kill to own a test print crucible, although the EE is probably worth more.

I get what you mean. It took a while to get used to a test print that tested sunburst foiling, or all things. It grew on me after a while, and its collectibility sealed the deal. The test print Staff of Domination looks amazing this way, though.

I'll sell you a white textbox one if/when I liquidate singly. :)

The only Foil Cards I own are 1 DCI Deed (I love the artwork), 10 VS. System villians, wich I use as zombie tokens in Ichorid and a Monti Burns.
