A "Handelsvertrag" from "Heimländer" is badassery at its finest. Is that a reason English speaking players consider German cards to be pimp (obv. apart from them being rarer and harder to come by), being able to yell at your opponent in a crazy, angry, German voice when you cast stuff? :D

Yup..usually you're paying VAT (19% in Germany, no idea how much it is in the Netherlands though) plus an some kind of additional fee (in case the post office has to collect the money from you and has to pay the customs office in advance). 26 dollars seems like a lot though. The one time my order from overseas didn't go unnoticed, I had to pay 8€ for about 45$ worth of stuff. (approx. 19%)

Yeah, it's Import taxes + some extra stuff, the taxes only aren't so bad, it's understandable, those were about 9 dollar, the rest is the post office claiming that it's really complicated to do the whole declaring to customs thing so they do it for you, but it costs 18 dollar -.-

They just bumped up the VAT from 19% to 21% in the Netherlands. But, you don't have to pay import-taxes when you're shipping between Germany and the Netherlands, right? Same tax region (EU). Or, did you order from the US?

Any complaint concerning import taxes should be made to your government and not an eBay seller. Someone in Italy purchased $100 from me and was charged $25 for customs. He was upset at me and gave me negative feedback. Of course eBay removed it since you can no longer leave negative feedback disputing customs charges. He assumed I knew Italy's customs laws. I actually had someone in Brazil buy a 60 card sleeved deck and wanted me to ship it in a white envelope to avoid customs. I can be just as accomodating as the next guy, but seriously? It's really annoying.

Glad you like it coraz86 -- I have done a number of them now, and I assure you that it is actually made from exactly 20 MTG cards, I am writing an article on the how to, so maybe once I get that up I will post you a link. I encourage others to try making them; so long as you have about 4+ hours to spend doing it, that one took me about 5 hours total and it is not as detailed as some I have done.

You could do it with Collector's Edition as well. Honestly, the square corners on the Collector's Edition printing might be better.

Russian started at Ravnica. Russian Time-Shifted cards are the best though

I know Supreme IRL (who did the life counter). His work is very good, and I've handled his counters before. They are very sturdy, as they usually are 10 cards thick.

Thanks, Jace isn't even very good in that mediocre deck but once you have russian Jace you must play russian Jace. For some sets I find T-Chinese really hard to find (Destiny, Legacy, Masques, Invasion Block seems to be all simplified) ... the whole deck was an excuse to play Electrickery at a store full of Maverick and Goblins.

For notable non-foils I ended up with Jace, Steam Vents, Hallowed Fountain, Temple Garden, Niv-Mizzet, Isperia, Supreme Justice, Rest in Piece, Detention Sphere, Deathrite Shaman & Pithing Needle.

I also ended up with 1 Owl and Dryad :/ Even stranger was that I only ended up with 1 Azorius Guildgate which is stupid for being a common.

...if it does not show up so well: both crypts are double signed, the signed mystical is foil, the vampiric is signed in gold and only
one of three copies i know of. markers has one, i have one, and recently another one sold on some italian pimp forum. mine came from
the usa and took more than a month to arrive. i guess all three are now in europe ;-)

vampiric and darth vader mana crypt straight went into my vintage deck, for mystical i already have one. but it´s nice to have such crypts (have a 3rd and older double signed and altered with indiana jones) and a tutor left for trading ;-)

An absolute steal, via Boulder Magic on eBay. It arrived quickly (I paid for them Sunday), they're pack fresh, and the price was nuts. I can't say enough about them, and I'm definitely going back for more. Though most of what they have seems to be Standard-legal. >.<

Also, re: SupREME-10's life counters, I don't know how he sticks the cards together or if he wraps them in electrical tape or whatever, but the abacus seriously feels like quality plastic, kind of like those Texas Instruments scientific calculators you get issued in high school. I do keep in in a deckbox with my cards rather than free-floating in my dice bag, but I have no doubt that I'll be able to keep it for years and get some serious mileage out of it.

@ mini1337s: I have seen your almost all foil Maverick and your Newer almost all Russian decks in real life, and bot of them look AWESOME. I am not even a fan of Foil Cards and I like the way you pimped that Maverick deck. Bloody Sweet and thank you for sharing it with us and for beating my face in with when I was throwing some Merfolk at you.

@ coraz86: in regard to the Abacus, The Royal Assassin was the 15th abacus I have nade now (about 1 a month on average) and the guy above you (mini1337s actually got the first one as a gift because he has been instrumental in my return to MTG and Legacy MTG in particular. His looks pretty shitty in comparison to yours as I learned a lot over the 15 builds. But I will assure you that the abacus is made of 100% card stock, some glue, some paint, some wire and some beads, oh and a lot of patience.

I assure you that they hold up well to usage; but like all cards, they should not be thrown into your dice bag randomly. I keep my Merfolk Assassin in my deck box in a smaller plastic bag and it is well over a year old now and going strong - it does need a few touchup on the black edge paint; but I sealed yours with laquar so it should be even more resilient.

Oh and the Abacus' take me several hours to build to that level of quality; but as each one improved I have refused to skrimp time or effort on the next so they just keep getting better. Here is a pic of yours again from another agle; and a couple pics of #16 that I traded out before I even had the build completed.

Double signed is over the top, and man I wish I could get some T. Neilson signed cards such as a FOW... that would be through the roof in my books.

My hat goes off to you dernestor86, as those are some very nice "Signed" cards.

As for the other cards, I'm actually not a huge fan of the original STP art. It's fine, but I actually like the IA one better. I guess the Deeds and stuff could all get upgraded to German, but for now, they'll do :tongue:. My philosophy has always been Russian/original Korean or best art (in my opinion) in oldest English, but I guess I could run a few German pieces as well. Hm, IA did come in German, so those STP's could be German'd as well.

Well, it was my birthday, and I didn't get myself anything yet. Hm. Maybe :)

Thanks. 99% of my altered cards are done by Poxy. I checked with the head judges during GP: Manila if I could play with my altered cards. All of them were cleared since they were only extended and easily recognizable. The only ones that were prohibited were the basic lands w/o the name because even if the symbol is still there, not all players know that is an Island or Swamp am using. This is the reason I switched to having them extended only with the fear of not being able to use it during tourneys.

EDH tourneys are much more lax so I could get away with different art alterations.

@ sumbahdy: I love Poxy14's alters, he has inspired me to achieve higher levels with my own alters and your collection looks awesome.

I have a similar goal to yours, although I refuse to use my own alters as part of my collection although I have done trades with poxy 1-1 on alters. It will be slow for me as I am trading alters for alters or singed cards and I just started with trading in this site. Your guys decks are amazing to look at.

Locally I have no issues with using altered cards; but extended is the wtg as you can instantly recongnize the card still.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay... maybe a couple of bucks, would be more if the next card on the sheet is showing.

So, I saw roughly 100 pages back * I've been bored at work* the NM Beta Tundra that got bent due to not using a proper toploader, plus some other cards that got ripped or torn when someone opened the packages.

Well, I had to ask around A LOT....Someone at MagicLibrarities knew somebody who had one...We did a trade. That trade hurt quite a bit (Richard thomas sig are also VERY hard to come by) but it was worth it.

Somewhat recent acquisitions. The Xantids are super difficult to find, I actually kind of screwed over Ethan Heilicher to teach him a lesson! I knew his max bid on the same Xantid Swarm we were both bidding on, so I bid $149.99. He won the Xantid at 150.00. That's why you see one on eBay thats ridiculously overpriced that high. I won another one right after that for 75$! He'll learn to never outbid me again! I picked up both of the Decays at $70, which is actually a great deal. At the time I acquired them, there was one ending that day well over one hundred.

Maybe I'll post the entire deck once I finish it (again). I still need to find Japanese foil Cabal Therapies, the only one I've found is on eBay and it's too high at 65$. The last one that sold went for 35$. I have a feeling something similar to the Xantid situation happened.

If I do repost, I'm thinking of doing the deck and then all of the cards I still own that were in the deck at some point. If I still have them they're probably pimped out.

I tried to buy some BEFORE SCG increased the price significantly for 55$, but back then that was a good price, I think.

No offense, but Marvin, aren't you the guy who was making insanely bad offers on MOTL for foil fetches? There was someone from Europe making insanely bad offers, but I can't remember who it was exactly.

ps.: Im currently buying for low prices, but I traded for all of those at a range of 55$ (before SCG) - 75$ (after)!
and Im trading my power, so its a fair thing.
I didnt buy one single of the fetchlands, just the mesas.

Edit: A quick search on ebay revealed the amazing world of Amy Weber's personal eshop with a ton of altered AP's. Yahoo! omnomnom sketched Ap's.

I don't know what that card is worth, however SCG just added Miscuts & Rarities to their site. I noticed while looking through what they had that any card where the back is upside down was valued much higher than other miscuts that were just off-center.
