I've had it fully foiled for awhile now. I recently picked up the 2nd FBB Bayou to finish the MD and a pair of foily Meekstones to finish the SB. But for my Forests I'm using the MPS Ravnica lands with the guild emblems on them. I could probably put more effort into pimping those but I like them and although they are relatively cheap, people aren't used to seeing them.

Once I stumble upon some extra money I'll go for foil Lorwyn Thoughtseizes. But those damn things are hard to find so there's no rush on those.

I guess I will never get the Forests (and Plains) I need for my first pimp project. It seems like it's easier to acquire a Mox Emerald than a particular non-foil basics, as they are too usual for anybody to throw them on the net... :frown: I think that I'll get the 4ED ones for now, until someone somewhere opens a pack of japanese Invasion.

Her goal is to do 12 pieces by the end of the year, each a different magic card art or her take on it at least. Other then my Icy each piece will be for sale about a month after they are done. I know with oils it sometimes takes at least that long to dry if not longer. The Icy is acrylics and I think the power is all going to be a mix of oil and acrylic. I am going to start working next week on some tokens I just picked up 500+ blank playing cards to work with and a new set of sharpies and paint pens.

I know that this is no great feat compared to some guys in here; but consider that I have attained these through commissions and trades and not very many purchases so I am quite happy with the collection so far.

I am also very open to anyone that wishes to do trades to help me keep pimping the Real Estate out, or if they have ways to contact the artists I would also appreciate any info/help they can offer me.

Loving the full art duals like that, If I could find a set of all 10 done that way for EDH/Commander I would jump all over it. Or a set of 10 poor condition ones and have them "repaired" that way.

She did this with Acrylics. She is used to oil paints she said the hardest part is that the paint dries faster then she can mix the proper shades. Told her it is why I use prismacolor pencils I can blend in a new color a year later if I want :)
As she has the spare time and gets the power done I will post them.

Let your wife know that Glaze Medium can be used to retard the drying time on Acrylic Paints and really does help for both mixing and placement purposes. You can find it at more Decent Hobby Shops in the paint section and a Quart Bottle will last you for a year.

In regard to having a Full Set (1 each) for 10 altered Dual Lands I am 100% with you on that one. The Tundra was done by Poxy14, and the Badlands was a coop paint job between myself and jschro while I did the Underground Sea for myself as it was in fact a repair job. I could easily paint one of each for myself but I prefer to get work from other artists if possible; although I am quite open to trading art for art or doing more commissions if that is what it takes to get my set done.

I include an ink pen. I hate black sharpie sigs, looks like shit in a sleeve. You can get the sharpie ink pens which dry pretty quick from rite-aid here for like $6~ for 2 three packs. If they keep the pen I don't care.

I've actually had the gold and silver ink rub off. So I stopped using them.

I think that might happen with perfect fits. I've had decent luck with mine enduring. Some really old ones (like my Hymns signed at Origins 96) are hurting. I suppose I could trace the signature to freshen it up, not sure how cheaty that is with respect to the signature. Or just see the artist again and get it double signed :laugh:

Yeah he has a couple signatures. Wait until you line up 5-6 Julie Baroh cards and try to find the 'fake'. She just puts little loops or doodles in the right corner near the set symbol. Terese Nielsen also has 2 pretty distinct sigs over the years. I have a couple of each and will scan.

If I can play it in some format and it's S-Chinese old font I try to pick it up. I'm not sure there's a deck out there you could build all S-Chinese old font unless it's a block constructed deck.

Flood? In the vault? Unlikely. Plus, as long as you're not in the bottom and it's random branch bank, the vault is on the main floor and unlikely the water would get that high.

It's the same reason you don't hear about armoured car robberies anymore. The amount of money they carry around isn't changing anyone's life, so it's not worth it.

Fire? Again, at least at my local bank, the vault room is all concrete and metal. You might get some smoke damage, but that's not terrible.

Funny thing is that they probably lost less in cash than you would have. Banks don't hold that much money on a regular basis any more. 400+ seems to be Price for English foils (sold the three English foils i replaced for 1300 combined)

but paying xxx for old border/rarity seems fine to me. I already pay quite a Premium for old border (A/B duals over revised)

I can almost guarantee that those prices he has listed for REB and bolt are grossly overpriced and are more for display than actual selling. I don't think summer demonic tutor is worth 2,500 euros and that's an uncommon as well as highly sought after in comparison to REB, which is a common as well as bolt. If anyone buys those REBs or that single bolt they are fools. In comparison to those REB's you could buy a whole lot of lotuses or other pieces of power. For that bolt price you can buy a lot of alpha/beta dual lands or if you can find one a summer dual land for 5 grand in euros isn't unreasonable although they don't pop up often.

@those asking for the deck, a couple of cards away from the basic deck to be completed. Scoped out the brainstorms, rituals and non-fetch manabase to be completely comprising of high end misprints/summer, but those aren't ready yet. I can post the rest once the remaining items come in, but the full deck won't be ready for some time due to how hard it is to pick some items up.

Tops, Brainstorms and Forces have been legal at GP Strasbourg. The HJ for Paris said we shouldn't be having any problem for all alters though I will show them to him in person on Friday - but based on the pictures he said all of them were legal. And no I did not alter them - those were made either by Sandreline, Morgege or I picked them up via MKM/MCM. (or by Valtrix (Swords) - got them from the Seccret Santa 2013 :) plus the comic/asia-Angels were part of my Secret Santa - package from 2012 - by Whippoorwill )

Hi allek! I'm glad you like the deck... :)
I was unable to find Japanese versions of my favourite Forests and Plains from Invasion by John Avon, and when I got tired of waiting, I simply decided for these ones. I wasn't very comfortable with the choice, but then I opened the envelope and was like O_O
Japanese Brushlands were never printed with black borders, so I thought about bb-ing Fifth Edition ones (this is what happened to the Birds), until I set my eyes on the three Savannahs in my binders and said to myself "well, why not, whatever..." :-D
I'd purchase UNL Savannahs and give them to my local alterer to bb them, but it's quite a waste of money... in fact this deck came into being as a fun project only.

Sometimes it made me pleasure to think how my old pet deck should look like back in 1999-2001 (when our casual group thrived), or even later in 2002/3 (when it slowly sphacelated.) I always had a soft spot for all Creaturegeddon decks and although the one I used in my old group was completely different and much weaker, this is what I should have played back then.
I found it funny that some of the cards that were pretty cheap back then (like Terravore for 1 USD or fetches for 5 USD) are now quite expensive, while the past bombs (like Exalted Angel) are thrash rares now. I sculpted and polished the deck in my mind for very long, until one day I simply decided to build it. As such, the deck is meant to sit on a shelf gathering dust, and be occasionaly thrown against old friends from elementary school. :tongue:

Thanks! I had to buy them signed because he is hard to meet at a tournament and as far as I know he doesn't sign through the mail. He is in the UK. I still need some dread returns signed by him though.

I was offered the rest of the signed cards I was missing, but the sigs were clearly fake. The Matt Stewart signatures were poorly replicated (I have met and had stuff signed before, just did not have any Narcomoebas with me) and the Bridge From Below's were double signed. Tim Hildebrandt passed away in 2006 and the card did not release in print until 2007. There is no physical way Tim could have ever signed a single Bridge From Below card.

Its nice having something to work towards though. I have made contact with Ed P. Beard Jr to get the Stinkweeds signed, and i recently found contact info for E.M. Gist for the Fatestichers.

And apparently Jeff Menges will be at New Orleans Comic Con this week, a few hour drive for me, but i wont have the fourth Bazaar to take to get signed. Sad times :cry:

I have inked up bazaars, I randomly caught Gist at Illuxcon and he inked my russian Fatestitchers ... No idea people forged signatures what a hilarious pastime, you are devaluing the card in most cases -- why fake it? So I guess Grrs! bridges are fake then unless zombie Tim signed them? I love foreign cards but I have to have everything in the same language as I do not like mixing. German would definitely be the answer here as ween stated.

I used to like foils, but it looks goofy if you can only foil half of the deck. I like non-foil for eternal formats, but will still foil modern because its possible and sometimes its the only way to pimp it. I have also ugly pimped my peasant cube with new boarder versions of cards and judge promos. Its very very ugly. :tongue:

As far as fitting - it looks like you're using imgur. If you're signed in, click on the images tab and click on your image. In the lower-right it has a box that says Sizes. Click on Large Thumbnail, and copy the Linked BBCode. That way people can click on the image to see full-size.

Hmm seems I've finished my favourite deck by BB brainstorms yesterday, the decklist is ~October when I decided my Alpha/korean Dark ritual dilemma by pimping the deck a bit and keep the Alphas for uh, dunno what ...actual version decklist misses 1 more ToA and jap Thoughtseizes which GP Paris will take care of, jap. Sulfur Elementals would be harder... I'd like to get further and japanize the SB, but Xantid swarm is a bit out of reach by now - only MKM ones 200E wtf? used to be 100$ a while back... PiF and Thieves are foil, pyroblast missprint, the Ponders would look better in jap, duals are altered therefore utterly unpimp... otherwise:

one of our gameshop owners alters cards... all cards the same guy - he keeps the black nicely consistent, it's never superprecise and not all cards are easily altered (for example Unl. has a borderline on the frame, some other cards end with the color which is not good), but they look great in person are thin and no wear has shown yet (after 2 years)

I believe it's several layers of very diluted acrylics and a colorless fixing layer... the surface is matte and smooth

Hi Slosh! Nice deck overthere! :-)

On the BB alters: I got few duals and a set of BoPs done by the same alterer and I must also say that he's incredible. Cards are smooth, the borders are very precise and the alterer lays varnish over the borders, so they shouldn't wear... esp. in a permanent doublesleeve. At first I was hesitant to BB my stuff, as I was a bit afraid how it will end, but then the inconsitent borders annoyed me so much I finally decided to use his service... and I wasn't dissapointed!

I could care less for blinkey blinkey foil stuff as I prefer altered. But Miracles is Miracles.... This deck is a total blast to look at! Great work! Clear english, outstanding! Plus, your list is decent, too - only a handful cards different from what I'll be rocking at the GP :)

I feel your pain. Took a Goblin Stompy list with four Settlers and four Moons out to a tournament and got paired against Manaless Dredge. Stone Rained myself to get a chump blocker and take out some Bridges. Too little too late.
